Transcript:
Carlos: We want to welcome everybody to Hanuk, the Book of Enoch.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: Chapter 37.
Dawson: So, chapter 37, verse 1 says, “The second vision which he saw, the vision of wisdom”. Now before we continue with this, I wanted to talk about what is wisdom. I think a lot of people have that question. So, I’ll share with you, you guys, what I know about wisdom based on the original Hebrew word for wisdom.
Carlos: And the word is?
Dawson: That word is “chakam”.
Carlos: Chakam.
Dawson: Yes, and it’s the first letter in this word is the letter chet, which is a picture of a wall. So that’s the letter chet in original Hebrew, also called Paleo Hebrew.
Carlos: She’s getting really good at writing these Hebrew letters.
Dawson: I’m getting better than I used to be. Yeah, and one thing that Father told me about this letter is that when you see the picture of the wall in Hebrew words, a lot of the times it means safeguard.
Carlos: Defense,
Dawson: A defense. It’s something that protects you and …
Carlos: Full armor of God.
Dawson: It’s not a surprise to see a letter which means safeguard and defense in the word for wisdom, because the scriptures tell us that wisdom is a safeguard. In Ecclesiastes, it says, wisdom is a defense.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: In Proverbs, it says, “Forsake wisdom not, and she shall preserve thee.” And also in Proverbs, it says, “Who so walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”
Carlos: Delivered. Amen.
Dawson: So, by the letters, the original Hebrew word for wisdom, chakam …
Carlos: Is to understand His ways.
Dawson: Ultimately, definitely a hundred percent to understand His ways. This first letter, the letter chet, when you hit a wall, you’ve hit the end of something. And so, we see this letter used in Hebrew words sometimes to mean like the end result. We talked about in a previous episode about how life is the end result of Yashua’s work. He gives us life. And so …
Carlos: If you see our chet video, mankind hit a chet.
Dawson: Yes. They hit a wall.
Carlos: Boom. That was it. Wall of water.
Dawson: Yeah. So, in this word, the chet, it’s the end result of this, the letter kaf, which is, it’s a picture of the palm of your hand. And the way the kaf is used in Hebrew words is when you’re in it, it’s in a bad way when you’re subjugated. When you’re beneath like somebody’s hand, Now, we are servants of God, our Father. And so, we are in His hands and we are subject to Him.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: The end result of being subject to Father’s voice. We talked about before how the mem is used to represent Father’s voice.
The letter mem is a picture of waters. His voice is as the sound of many waters.
When you subject yourself to Father’s voice, then you understand His ways and you know what to do. And that is wisdom.
Carlos: Wisdom.
Dawson: By the letters. Yeah.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: So, this vision that Enoch is about to share with us, it’s a vision of wisdom and …
Carlos: Of chakam.
Dawson: Of chakam. And from the very, very first words of the book of Enoch, he told us who this wisdom is for and it’s for those who are going to be living in the day of tribulation.
Carlos: Amen. To a remote generation.
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: The last.
Dawson: That’s us.
Carlos: That would be us.
Dawson: Yeah. So, everything that we’re about to read, we’re in the section of Enoch called “Enoch’s Parables”. Everything that we’re about to read in these parables is wisdom for our generation for the days that we’re about to live through that we’re already starting to live through.
Carlos: It sure looks like.
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: Right?
Dawson: I think …
Carlos: Amen. Hallelujah.
Dawson: I think we’re there.
Carlos: Here we go.
Dawson: Yeah. So, the second vision, which he saw, the vision of wisdom, which Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Canaan, the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam saw.
Some people will say – people who don’t like the book of Enoch, one thing that they’ll try to use to discourage people from reading it is they’ll say, well, this was written by Enoch, the descendant of Cain. Not the good Enoch, the bad Enoch.
Carlos: Eh! Critical error.
Dawson: Enoch is telling you right here who he is. He’s the seventh from Adam, just like Jude describes him in the New Testament.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: That’s the good Enoch. Verse two. And this is the beginning of the words of wisdom, which I lifted up my voice to speak and say to those who dwell on earth, “Hear, ye men of old time and see ye that come after.” That’s us.
Carlos: That’ll be us. Absolutely.
Dawson: The words of the Holy One, which I will speak before the Lord of Spirits. Now that’s a really cool name for Father.
Carlos: It really is. Every “esh” belongs to him. He says every spirit.
Dawson: Every spirit.
Carlos: Amen. So it matches up. What’s obviously obvious when you read Enoch, if you have the Holy Spirit in you, it’s obvious this is a brother in the Lord.
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: Amen. So, to everyone else it’s mysterious, but if you have the Holy Spirit in you and you love Yashua and you follow his ways, it’s obvious this man is speaking full of the Spirit and he’s righteous.
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: Moses actually called Him, called Father, “God of the spirits of all flesh,” which is similar to Enoch.
Carlos: You know where he got it from.
Dawson: Yeah. And in Hebrews also we see Father referred to as “Father of spirits”. So, Enoch calls him here the “Lord of Spirits”.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: Verse three, it were better to declare them only to the men of old time, but even from those that come after, we will not withhold the beginning of wisdom.
Carlos: Now what does that mean?
Dawson: So, Enoch is living at a time and he has seen visions from Father and he knows that the flood is coming and he knows the big wipeout is about to happen.
Carlos: Yeah.
Dawson: It would – for him, I mean his own generation, the people that are living around him, it would have been better if these men and women that were around him at the time had listened to this message, receive the message, listen to it and …
Carlos: Repent.
Dawson: Repent and live.
Carlos: Yeah. They did not.
Dawson: They did not. “Till the present day, such wisdom has never been given by the Lord of Spirits as I have received according to my insight, according to the good pleasure of the Lord of Spirits by whom the lot of eternal life has been given to me.”
Carlos: What an amazing quote.
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: Now his lot was?
Dawson: His lot is eternal life, which is a really cool point because there are a lot of scholars and Bible teachers that have a hard time finding eternal life in the Old Testament and there are some that even argue that there was no such thing as eternal life in like the belief system of ancient Israel and that it’s something that was added to the scriptures later like around the time of Daniel. That’s a common teaching out there but this is the most ancient book that Israel had, that Abraham had, that Moses had and Enoch is telling you right here that his portion, his lot is eternal life.
So, it’s something that Father established from the very beginning, the plan to give his righteous people eternal life.
Carlos: Amen. To save and to restore.
Dawson: Yes. Verse 5, “Now three parables were imparted to me and I lifted up my voice and recounted them to those that dwell on the earth.
Carlos: That would be us.
Dawson: Yes. When the congregation of the righteous shall appear and sinners shall be judged for their sins and shall be driven from the face of the earth and when the righteous one shall appear before the eyes of the righteous whose elect works hang upon the Lord of Spirits and light shall appear to the righteous and the elect who dwell on the earth, where then will be the dwelling of the sinners and where the resting place of those who have denied the Lord of Spirits? It had been good for them if they had not been born.”
Carlos: Well, there we go. Now in a few episodes, oh one episode, back or two, we found out where they’re going to be parked, all these sinners.
Dawson: Yes, in Sheol.
Carlos: Sheol.
Dawson: Parts of Sheol.
Carlos: And Sheol is located right in the corner of …
Dawson: Oh, you’re talking about their future home in Lake of Fire?
Carlos: Oh yeah, which is right in the corner of Gehenna and Kidron.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: You know, misery and death.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: That’s the corner. That’s what it means.
Dawson: Yeah. So, what Enoch is talking about here is the day that Yashua comes. He’s saying when the congregation of the righteous shall appear, the congregation of the righteous are coming with Yashua in the clouds.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: The very last day. At that same time, sinners shall be judged for their sins and will be driven from the face of the earth into the Lake of Fire, like Carlos is saying.
Carlos: Amen. Now there’s a teaching on when everybody here gets taken up and come down again. Do we have one on that yet?
Dawson: You’re talking about the Gog Magog rapture?
Carlos: Mm-hmm.
Dawson: In the Gog Magog series. Yeah.
Carlos: Yeah, check out the Gog Magog series and you’ll see we’ll be landing with him.
Dawson: Yeah, we do think that …
Carlos: According to scriptures, that’s what we get. So, for your consideration.
Dawson: Yeah. Maybe a little detail because they might not have any idea what we’re talking about if they haven’t watched the Gog Magog series.
Carlos: The word mentions that we will be landing with Him.
Dawson: So, it says in the New Testament that we’re going to be caught up to Yashua and it also says that so shall we always be with him.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: And it also says in the Bible that his feet are going to land on Mount of Olives.
Carlos: With all his children.
Dawson: So yeah, we think that …
Carlos: We’ll come right back with Him.
Dawson: Yeah. We do believe we’re going to live through tribulation and that’s okay because Father is preparing us and He’s going to take care of us. If you haven’t…
Carlos: To what’s coming, yeah, we’re expecting it, maranatha.
Dawson: Yeah, and if you’re not assured of that, go back to the very beginning of Enoch and just read the first few chapters. We went through them verse by verse because this whole book …
Carlos: It’s about the last generation.
Dawson: It’s about the last generation, who’s going to see this tribulation, live through it, and be protected.
Carlos: It’s about you.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: So where then will be the dwelling of the sinners and where the resting place of those who have denied the Lord of Spirits? It had been good for them if they had not been born.
Carlos: Now Yashua uses the same words. If you touch one of these little ones, it’d be better you were never born.
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: All you listening who love Yashua, you’re one of his little ones.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: Just to let you know.
Dawson: Yeah. Let’s see.
Carlos: No matter how old you are.
Dawson: Yes, that’s true. That’s true. When the secrets of the righteous shall be revealed, and the sinners judged, and the godless driven from the presence of the righteous and elect, from that time those that possess the earth shall no longer be powerful and exalted, and they shall not be able to behold the face of the holy. For the Lord of Spirits has caused his light to appear on the face of the holy, righteous, and elect.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: Then shall the kings and the mighty perish and be given into the hands of the righteous and holy, and thenceforward none shall seek for themselves mercy from the Lord of Spirits, for their life is at an end.
Carlos: They know they’re done.
Dawson: They know they’re done.
Carlos: Amen. It’s like it says in – we just mentioned it, Gog Magog, after he wipes them out, they will know once they’re dead. They come before Him and they will know instantly that He is the Lord.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: Amen? And that’s amazing how it happens.
Dawson: Yeah. So …
Carlos: Now, I want to say “wisdom that you need to know.”
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: We made a note of that, so what’s the wisdom we need to know?
Dawson: So, this first part of Enoch’s first parable, we’ll continue it next time, but the first part of the parable, the wisdom that you need to know for what’s coming is that the godless, the wicked are all going to be removed. There’s not going to be any place for them. They’re not going to be leaders on the planet anymore.
Carlos: But they will be placed into the earth.
Dawson: Yes. And at the same time, Father is going to make His face shine on us.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: So, two things. The godless are removed, like Enoch has been saying from verse one of chapter one. Godless removed. Wicked removed. The righteous, those who believe in Yashua, blessed and taken care of.
Carlos: And into their inheritance.
Dawson: Yes.
Carlos: Amen.
Dawson: Good times coming.
Carlos: Good times coming. Now, those of you who are saved in Yashua, we say, “Maranatha.” Bring the kingdom. Amen?
Dawson: Amen.
Carlos: Amen. And for those of you who don’t, you got to get with it. It’s getting late in the game.
Dawson: Right.
Carlos: Ask any believer near you to help you repent and get some fellowship with them. Amen?
Dawson: Yeah.
Carlos: And listen to those who are following Yashua. They’ll show you the way. Amen?
Dawson: Amen.
Carlos: Amen.
[Music plays]
Father You are merciful
And You show us Your ways
And lead us on Your good paths
For length of days
Father You deliver us
And keep us from all harm
So LORD let me hear You O when You call
Blessed is YASHUA
Salvation of my King
The only Name I know can save me from everything
And my GOD remembers all of His forever and always – HE never forgets
HE does not forget
For THE LORD is my Rock
And my mighty fortress
Who said that HE would go before our face when we walk – our King at the head
Troubles will come
So will His rain fall down
I know one thing:
My GOD, HE saves

About the series:
Our Book of Enoch Bible Study series offers a down-to-earth look at this often sensationalized text. Instead of focusing mainly on fallen angels, our goal is to learn the heart of our Father and gain understanding of the Old and New Testament Scriptures that parallel Enoch’s words. Throughout this series, we’ll read together and discuss:
- Life before the Flood
- How sin and transgression caused GOD to destroy His creation,
- Enoch’s epic prophecies covering the history of humanity and Israel,
- The many passages in Enoch that point to YASHUA HA MASHIACH (JESUS CHRIST),
- The ancient calendar of Israel,
- End-times prophecies and how Father will protect us through the days to come, and
- What life will be like in Millennium.
Enoch is a remarkably full book that sheds light on everything from Genesis to Revelation, so, in our view, to understand Enoch is to better understand the entire Bible.
