Introduction
In the Book of Ezekiel, the prophet wrote about an end times battle that will come to pass between Gog and Israel. His description of this battle is one of the most debated topics in the Scriptures.
Who exactly is involved in Gog Magog and when does the battle take place?
Some say it happens before the tribulation. Others believe Gog Magog is the same event as Armageddon, and some teach that Ezekiel was talking about the final battle at the end of Millennium.
Our view is that Gog Magog happens just before Armageddon and that it’s one of the last events to occur before YASHUA returns. As for the who of Gog Magog, while most people argue about who’s in the army, our focus is on the group of people who the army comes to attack. In our view, the battle is only in part about people in the State of Israel. The main focus of the attack will be the lost tribes of Israel who will be living under GOD’s protection in the outskirts of the Land at the end of days. Gog Magog is, in our view, the culmination of the Second Exodus.
Part 2
Who is Gog?
Let’s get started by reading what Ezekiel wrote. Along the way, I’ll provide a few notes on the parties he mentions and on translation issues.
In Ezekiel 38, we read:
“The word of THE LORD came to me: “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him”
Gog as we’ll soon see is from the north, so Father is telling Ezekiel to face north and speak a prophecy against him.The name Gog is found two places in the Bible – one Gog was a descendant of Reuben, son of Jacob, and the other Gog is the one here in Ezekiel.
Ezekiel says Gog rules the land of Magog, which is the name of one of the sons of Japheth, son of Noah.
Gog is the chief prince over Meshech and Tubal, who are both sons of Japheth.
The phrase chief prince is nesi rosh in Hebrew. Ezekiel’s use of the word rosh is why some people think this battle is about Russia, but the word rosh is used all over the Bible to simply mean head, chief, and leader, so we think chief prince, not Russia, is an appropriate translation here.
Continuing in Ezekiel, we read:
“and say, Thus says THE LORD GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. And I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords.
Persia, Cush and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you.”
Persia is the country Cyrus the great came from. In ancient sources, “Persians” and “Medes” were often used synonymously and “Parthians” were sometimes referred to as “Persians” since all of these parties occupied the same land (modern Iran). I mention this since later in this study we’ll be looking at prophecies about the Medes and Parthians that may align with what we’re reading here now.
Cush is a son of Ham, son of Noah. In modern Bibles, Cush is translated as Ethiopia.
Put is also a son of Ham. In modern Bibles, Put is translated as Libya.
Gomer is another son of Japheth.
Beth means house, so Beth-togarmah means house of Togarmah. Togarmah was a son of Gomer, who was a son of Japheth.
So we mostly have sons of Japheth here, with a few sons of Ham.
Continuing in Ezekiel, we read:
“Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them. After many days you will be mustered. In the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land whose people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and now dwell securely, all of them.” The translation land restored from war paints a different picture than the one we get from reading the actual Hebrew. A more literal reading of that last verse is: “In the latter years you will come to a land of those brought back from the sword, gathered from many peoples on the mountains of Israel which have been desolate continually and it is brought forth and they dwell in safety all of them.” (Note: there’s a table at the end of this document showing how we arrived at that translation.)
“You will advance, coming on like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you. Thus says THE LORD GOD: On that day, thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme and say, ‘I will go up against the land of unwalled villages.”
Our view is that the Gog armies are either en route or already at the Land of Israel when they decide to attack not only the main cities, but to go after those living safely in the desolate mountains. We’ll talk more about this group of people later.
“I will fall upon the quiet people who dwell securely,”
The Hebrew word for quiet (shaqat) is a word that’s used several times in the books of Joshua, Judges and Chronicles to describe the Land during times there was rest from war. The root word for securely is batach which means to trust. So, these people that Gog has a thought to attack are at rest from war and living safely. We believe these are the 12 tribes regathered by GOD at the end of days and that we’re safe because HE will be with us in the Second Exodus as HE was with Israel in the First Exodus. More on this shortly.
“all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places that are now inhabited, and the people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell at the center of the earth.”
The phrase center of the earth is tabur haaretz in Hebrew. Haaretz means the land and tabur is a word that is only used twice in the Bible – once here, and once in Judges where it sounds like it means a place of high elevation since in Judges, people descend from tabur haaretz. This mention of high elevation matches what Ezekiel said earlier about the battle taking place in the mountains.
To summarize, Gog comes against Israel and, in that day, he has a thought to come against the land of unwalled villages, to people who have been gathered from many peoples and who are now on the continually waste mountains of Israel, at rest from war and dwelling securely.
Despite many peace deals over the past 70+ years, we cannot say the people of the State of Israel are at rest from war. They live under constant threat of war and are constantly engaged in various types of warfare. They are reliant on bomb shelters and fortified walls for safety – they are not dwelling securely without walls as Ezekiel described.
Yet, Ezekiel and many other prophets wrote about a time when a people who GOD calls Israel will be gathered to the mountains and will live under His protection, without walls, while HE judges the earth.
That time has not yet come, but it is coming soon. Before we continue in Ezekiel, let’s clarify one pressing question – who is the Israel who will be gathered to the mountains?
Part 3
Who is Israel?
Israel is the name that was given to our Father’s servant Jacob, and Israel had 12 sons who each became a tribe of Israel.
Many centuries after Jacob, King David ruled over all the tribes. After David passed away, Father split Israel into two parts (1 Kings 11). The three tribes Judah, Levi and Benjamin became who the Bible calls the House of Judah. The rest of the tribes became who the Bible calls the House of Israel. The tribes of the House of Israel are Ephraim and Manasseh from Jacob’s son Joseph, Gad, Reuben, Issachar, Zebulun, Napthali, Dan, Simeon, and Asher.
The ten House of Israel tribes worshipped other gods, so Father kicked them off of His land in the 8th century BC and scattered them throughout the nations. They became, as the Bible calls them, lost sheep.
Much of the world has forgotten about this part of Israel or they teach that the tribes were never really lost. They celebrate the House of Judah being in the Land today as the return of “the whole House of Israel.”
But GOD hasn’t forgotten His lost sheep.
HE said through His prophet Ezekiel:
“For thus says THE LORD GOD: Behold, I, I Myself will search for My sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out My sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered…” (Ezekiel 34:11-12)
“I will seek the lost…” HE says. (Ezekiel 34:16)
And “they shall know that I am THE LORD their GOD with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are My people, declares THE LORD GOD.” (Ezekiel 34:30)
Some say the lost tribes of the House of Israel are mixed in with the House of Judah, but the Scriptures teach otherwise. In Ezra, we learn that when Israel came back from Babylon in the 6th century BC, all that was left of Israel was the three House of Judah tribes: Judah, Benjamin and Levi (Ezra 1). In numerous Old Testament prophecies about the end of days, GOD speaks of the two Houses as separate entities (Jeremiah 3:18, Ezekiel 37:15-28, Zechariah 10:6-9, et al). The tribes of the House of Israel are not mixed in among Judah today as some say – they are lost as our Father said.
If HE calls them lost, who are we to say otherwise?
This analogy came to mind as I was considering these matters –
It’s like this:
There’s a father who had 12 sons he loves, and three of those sons were very close-knit and they hung out as a group. All 12 sons ended up doing bad things and they sold themselves into slavery and got taken away from their father’s land in the middle of the night.
Years later, the tight knit group of three sons came back to the father’s land. And the whole town had a huge party and said to one another “Let us celebrate because all of the Father’s sons have now returned home!” And they completely ignore that the father had more than three sons – he had 12!
The town can party all they want, but the Father is still sending out search parties for His other missing kids. This is what has been happening since the 1948 creation of the State of Israel. The church has celebrated the return of Judah, Levi and Benjamin as being the regathering of “all Israel,” and they’ve ignored the many prophecies about the actual regathering of the 12 tribes.
If you think the regathering of Israel took place in 1948, then for you Gog Magog can happen any day now. But for us, we’re waiting for Father to gather the 12 tribes first. This concept of the gathering of Israel is essential to understanding not only the who of Gog Magog, but also the where, when and why. So for the sake of those who have been taught to believe that Biblical Israel has been brought back already, let’s examine the Scriptures.
How the Bible Describes Israel’s Regathering
The Bible describes what the regathering of Israel will be like, and according to the descriptions Father gives us about it, it hasn’t happened yet.
Ezekiel 20 says Father will take anyone who’s from a tribe of Israel out of whatever countries they live in now and into the wilderness.
In Revelation, we read about the woman with 12 stars on her head which is a picture of Israel. And it says this woman (Israel) is nourished in the wilderness at the end of days for a time, times and half a time (Revelation 12).
So Israel has to go to the wilderness first. That hasn’t happened yet, but it will.
Ezekiel 20 also says that when Father regathers Israel and they’re in the wilderness, HE is going to purge them. And as part of that purge, anyone who is a rebel who doesn’t want to follow His ways will not be allowed to enter the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 11:18 says those who do enter the land will be the ones to remove all the abominations from it.
Today there are rebels in the land of Israel who don’t follow GOD’s ways, so GOD’s purge hasn’t happened yet. And there still are abominations in His land, so the Israel HE’s talking about hasn’t returned yet.
Micah 7:15 tells us the regathering will be with great miracles like the first Exodus. It says, “According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him [Israel] marvelous things.”
And Jeremiah 16:14-15 says that after the regathering, people won’t even talk about the Exodus from Egypt anymore. “Therefore, behold, the days come, saith THE LORD, that it shall no more be said, THE LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, THE LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither HE had driven them.”
The creation of the State of Israel in 1948 didn’t come with miraculous signs like Moses parting the Red Sea and GOD sending manna from heaven, and people today still talk about that First Exodus.
To recap –
- We don’t have all 12 tribes in the land;
- There was no purge of the rebels. Rebels entered the Land of Israel in 1948 and to this day there people there who don’t walk in His ways;
- People still talk about the First Exodus;
- Abominations have not been removed from the Land (in Israel today you will find idols, amulets, sorceries, and people who commit abominations to GOD). And the ultimate abomination is still yet to come at the end of days when the antichrist sets up an idol of himself in Jerusalem.
By all of this, we know the regathering hasn’t happened yet.
Countering a False argument: Nation Born in One Day
Many say that in May of 1948 with the stroke of a pen Zion was born in one day just like Isaiah said. But in Father’s eyes, to be born means you’ve been given life, and life in Father’s eyes is only in YASHUA. Without YASHUA you are not born and you are not alive – Father sees you as dead in your sins.
Here’s the part of Isaiah 66 that they use, and what it really means.
“Before she [Zion] travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.”
The man child in that prophecy is not 1948 Israel, it’s YASHUA who was raised to life from a grave in Zion.
Isaiah continues: “Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.”
Many use this Scripture to say that at the stroke of a pen the nation-state of Israel was born.
But when YASHUA was raised that day from a grave in Zion, all who believe in Him were raised up with HIM. HE said “because I live, you will live.” If you believe in YASHUA, then you are the nation of children brought forth in one day that Isaiah was talking about. He wasn’t prophesying the secular State of Israel – he was prophesying about children who would be given life by GOD the Father through YASHUA.
Some of Father’s children are from the House of Israel, some are from the House of Judah, and some are from the nations. In YASHUA, we are all children of Zion because our GOD and Father is married to Zion. Zion delivered a Son and a nation of born again believers all in one day at the Resurrection like Isaiah prophesied.
Christian Heirs of Abraham
The Apostle Paul told us that regardless of your heritage, “if you are CHRIST’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise (Galatians 3:29).” So we expect that when Father regathers Israel at the end of days, Israel will consist of those who are genetically from the tribes of Israel and those who are not.
As Isaiah prophesied, “sojourners shall be joined to Israel” (Isaiah 14:1).
Paul also told us that all who are in YASHUA are fellow citizens who, together, form the commonwealth of Israel (Ephesians 2).
Once YASHUA returns to reign, those who are not genetically from a tribe of Israel but who are in YASHUA will be given equal inheritance as native born children of Israel, in whatever tribe they choose to live with (Ezekiel 47:21-23).
Christians don’t replace Israel – they join Israel, and eventually, as we just read, they’ll literally join a tribe of Israel and get their inheritance as Abraham’s seed. Today’s true Christians will one day be Zebulun, Gad, Manasseh, Judah, and so forth.
The Scriptures teach that Israel is GOD’s holy, chosen people, but in order to receive an inheritance in His Kingdom, you need to be more than chosen – you need to be righteous. And righteousness is only through YASHUA. All the righteous ones are chosen, but not all the chosen ones are righteous.
At the end of days, Father’s work will be to gather those who, genetically, are the lost tribes of Israel, in part to separate the righteous from the unrighteous among them in His purge. At the end, the righteous from the tribes and the righteous from the nations will inherit the Land as one people Israel. One flock, with one Shepherd (John 10:16). We are the ones waiting for you, O LORD.
Countering Another False Argument: Brought Back in “Unbelief”
Some argue that 1948 Israel fulfilled the regathering prophecies because they say Ezekiel teaches Israel will be brought back in unbelief and unrighteousness. By this they mean that Israel will be brought to the land while they’re transgressing and sinning and denying YASHUA, and then GOD will make them righteous after they’re brought back to the land.
Here’s the Scripture they use:
Ezekiel 36:24-25: “I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.”
They emphasize the word then in that Scripture and they build their understanding around it. But the word then isn’t even a word in Hebrew. What gets translated as then is the single letter vav which most simply means “and” and could just as easily be translated as “and.”
And… if you keep reading in Ezekiel, he says “In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.” That means the cleansing and the dwelling happen at the same time, with the cleansing coming first. And once Israel is cleansed, they’ll live in the ruined cities and start rebuilding. It’s the same as what Ezekiel said earlier in chapter 20 – Israel will be purged in the wilderness so that the ones who get to enter Father’s land are the righteous ones.
Who is Israel and Who is in the Land Today?
Spiritually speaking, and when it’s time for the inheritance in Millennium, Israel is all of the righteous who are in YASHUA, whether they’re from the House of Judah, House of Israel, or the nations.
In most Bible prophecies however, Israel is the 12 tribes who descended from Jacob. This Israel has two parts – the House of Judah and the House of Israel. Together they form the whole house of Israel.
It’s prophesied that Judah would be in the Land at the end of days (Zechariah 12:2, et al.), so we believe there are many from the House of Judah who live there today. Much of Judah remains scattered around the world though – some by choice and some because they don’t yet know their true heritage.
It’s worth noting that by the time of the Babylonian exile, there were less than 5,000 people of Judah in the Land (Jeremiah 52:28-30). The rest had been killed by the Assyrians or scattered like the rest of the tribes. Because of this, much of Judah is lost today as well.
Also contributing to the some of the House of Judah losing their heritage is the fact that tribal lineage is through the fathers according to the Scriptures, but in Judaism this practice has long been abandoned and they trace their lineage through their mothers.
Thankfully, as we showed earlier, Father has plans to seek out His lost sheep around the world and that includes sheep from all of the tribes so that the whole house of Israel can be restored. For those of you who have heard teachings that the various ethnicities and nations of the world are actually tribes of Israel, that’s not true. The Scriptures are clear that the tribes would be scattered among all the peoples of the earth.
How Can Someone Know If They’re From a Tribe?
As we read above, GOD Himself will be the One to seek out His lost sheep. To us, that means they’ll be identified through the work of the Holy Spirit. In our own experience, HE sends signs and prophecies that come to pass so men and women will know who they are and believe what HE tells them.
If you’ve studied this topic, you may be familiar with Anna the prophetess from the New Testament Book of Luke. People use Anna’s story to say there’s no such thing as the “lost tribes” since Anna is identified as being from the tribe of Asher. But Anna was no ordinary woman. It’s written in Luke that she was a prophetess who did not depart from the Temple where she worshipped with fasting and prayer day and night. In other words, Anna was full of the Holy Spirit. It was because of this that she was able to recognize who YASHUA was when HE was brought to the Temple as a baby (Luke 2). In the same way, we believe it was in the Spirit that she knew what lost tribe she was from.
In the days to come, Father will seek out His lost with great signs and wonders and it will be obvious to the world. One of those signs for the world will be Gog Magog.
As I mentioned earlier, if you think the regathering of the lost sheep of Israel took place in 1948, then for you Gog Magog can happen any day now. But for us, the Second Greater Exodus has to come first with all its signs and wonders. Father has to take the 12 tribes of Israel out of the cities and into the wilderness and we have to see a group of Second Exodus Israel living where Ezekiel 38 says – in the mountains, in the ruins. The mountains and the ruins are actually all throughout the Scriptures that talk about where Israel will be regathered to. And that brings us to the where of Gog Magog.
Part 4
Where Gog Magog Takes Place
Ezekiel describes the Israel of Gog Magog as “gathered from many peoples on the mountains of Israel which have been desolate continually.”
In the Mountains
Here are a few Scriptures that speak of Israel being regathered to the mountains:
Ezekiel 34:13-14: “I will bring them out from the peoples, gather them from the countries, and bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines, and in all the settlements of the land. I will feed them in good pasture, and the lofty mountains of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in a good grazing land; they will feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel…”
Zechariah 10:8-10: “I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased… I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.”
Jeremiah 50:19-20: “And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead. In those days, and in that time, saith THE LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.”
Daniel 11:41: “[the antichrist] shall come into the glorious land. And tens of thousands shall fall, but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom and Moab and the main part of the Ammonites.” The lands called Edom, Moab and Ammon are part of the mountains of Israel that the tribes and the church will be gathered to in the Second Exodus.

Isaiah 16:4: “Let Mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.” HE will hide us in Moab while HE judges the people living in the part of Israel that’s west of the mountains.
In the Ruins
As it says in Ezekiel 38, Israel will be regathered to mountains that have been continually waste. The Hebrew word for waste is chorbah and it’s the same word translated as ruins elsewhere.
Many who say 1948 Israel fulfilled the regathering prophecies likewise say the ruins of Israel have already been rebuilt. However, the Scriptures teach there will be ruins in the Land in the last days and these ruins will need to be rebuilt in Millennium when YASHUA returns. Notably, there are huge parts of the promised Land being turned into rubble today because of the State of Israel’s wars. And there are more wars to come, including the end of days war YASHUA prophesied as happening just before the abomination of desolation (Luke 21, Matthew 24, Mark 13).
In Isaiah 51, it says “For THE LORD comforts Zion; HE comforts all her waste places.” If you read that chapter in context, you’ll see that HE comforts those waste places when HE sets His justice for a light to the peoples, meaning when YASHUA comes. Until then, there will be ruins in the Land of Israel, because, as Daniel says, “desolations are determined until an end of war” (Daniel 9:26, literal translation).
We saw earlier in Ezekiel 36 “In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities.” The next part of Ezekiel says, “and the wastes shall be builded.”
YASHUA once quoted from Isaiah where it says “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD is upon Me,” and HE stopped before HE got to the part about the “day of vengeance.” After the day of vengeance, Isaiah talks about how we will build up the ancient ruins and repair the ruined cities (Isaiah 61:4).
In Isaiah 52, it says at the return of THE LORD to Zion, the waste places of Jerusalem break forth into singing. This means Jerusalem is a waste when HE comes.
Finally, Micah tells us why the land will be waste: “Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.” (Micah 7:13).
Part 5
Are You He of Whom I Spoke?
Continuing with Ezekiel 38:13, we read:
“Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its leaders will say to you [Gog], ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?’ “Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say to Gog, Thus says THE LORD GOD: On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know it?
You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. You will come up against My people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against My land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.”
That last part literally says, “when I show Myself as holy in you before their eyes Gog.” Until Gog Magog, GOD allows His Name to be profaned which in Hebrew means to be treated as unholy. We’ll talk about this more later since it’s key to understanding the timing of Gog Magog.
“Thus says THE LORD GOD: Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them?”
This last verse tells us plainly that in ancient times, more than one prophet of Israel spoke about the Gog Magog war. So, the question is where are all the Gog prophecies in the Old Testament? For many people who have studied the Bible, Ezekiel seems to be the only place that talks about this battle.
One theory is the prophecies weren’t written down. Another is that this is something YHVH will say in the future, so that by the time HE says it, it will be a reference to Ezekiel and any prophets who have talked about Gog since then.
An even more interesting theory that we’d like to present here is that the prophecies of northern armies attacking Israel at the end of days are actually all over the Old Testament – but most skip right past these prophecies since Father used a codeword for Israel. And that codeword for Israel is Babylon.
Part 6
Mystery Babylon
Before we get started, remember that the word of His mouth is a two edged sword. HE can and HE will and HE has in the past spoken a word which is fulfilled in more ways than one.
Ancient Babylon was an empire that ruled over many peoples and many languages and had one head.
Mystery Babylon likewise “sits on many waters” (Revelation 17:1). The angel in Revelation told John this means Mystery Babylon is seated on many peoples, nations, and languages (Revelation 17:15), just like the ancient Babylonian empire.
There are prophecies in the Old Testament about the King of Babylon, the land of Babylon and the people of Babylon that were not fulfilled with Ancient Babylon, because some of those prophecies are reserved for Mystery Babylon at the end of days.
Let’s identify Babylon’s king, land and people and then I’ll show you what this has to do with Gog Magog.

King of Mystery Babylon
As described in Daniel 1, Nebuchadnezzar, a king of Ancient Babylon, was given a dream by GOD. In the dream, he saw a statue. Daniel interpreted the dream for him, telling Nebuchadnezzar he was the head of the statue, and this single statue represented various kingdoms. In hindsight, we know those kingdoms include the Neo-Babylonian empire, the Persian empire, the Greek empire, and beyond.

It’s worth noting that when Cyrus of Persia conquered Babylon, he took on the title King of Babylon. And, after Alexander of Greece conquered the Persian empire, he died in Nebuchadnezzar’s palace.

In fact, when Alexander’s massive Greek empire was split up among his generals, they held the meeting to partition that empire in the city of Babylon. Part of Alexander’s kingdom went to the Seleucids who then became kings of Babylon and who temporarily ruled from Babylon. These same Seleucids are the Kings of the North in Daniel 11. And Daniel tells us that the antichrist will one day be King of the North. He is therefore, in a sense, King of Babylon.

At the end of days, the antichrist – King of the North and King of Babylon – will be possessed by satan who is also the King of Babylon as we learn in Isaiah 14.
Babylon has passed through many hands, but ultimately it ends up in satan’s hands. Thankfully, as we learn from Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, YASHUA’s kingdom will ultimately destroy the entire body whose head is Babylon.
Seven Years are Owed to the King of Babylon
Jeremiah prophesied that Israel and the surrounding nations owed 70 years of servitude to the King of Babylon (Jeremiah 25). In our view, only 63 of those 70 years were fulfilled since for seven years, Nebuchadnezzar lost his mind and couldn’t fulfill his duties as king (Daniel 4). No king of Babylon on the throne for seven years means the land still owes seven years of servitude to the King of Babylon.
We believe these seven years will be fulfilled with the last seven years of the age when the people who are living in the land will be under the control of satan/antichrist King of Babylon.
If you read all of Jeremiah 25, you’ll see that when the 70 years are over, every prophecy Jeremiah gave will be fulfilled. That’s another clue that the 70 years aren’t over yet. Because one of the prophecies in Jeremiah is that all nations will drink the cup of Father’s wrath, which won’t happen until the end of days.
Interestingly, when Jeremiah gives the nations the cup of Father’s wrath, the last ones to drink are the kings of the north, then all nations on earth, then the king of Babylon. We believe this is one of the many indications that the order of things in the end will be Gog Magog (kings of the north), then Armageddon (all nations), then judgment on antichrist & satan (each and separately the King of Babylon).
Where is Mystery Babylon?
Ancient Babylon today lies in ruins, but it wasn’t destroyed the way the Old Testament prophets described.
When Cyrus conquered the Neo-Babylonian empire in the 6th century BC, it was a relatively peaceful transition. But the Bible says the people of Babylon will be killed by a merciless army who won’t even spare the pregnant, and that the land will be destroyed with great everlasting destruction. That didn’t happen in the 6th century BC. Cyrus’ army came and liberated the people and the city of Babylon was in good enough shape two centuries later that Alexander the great was partying in Nebuchadnezzar’s palace.
Babylon remained an important city for the Seleucid empire that came after Alexander in the 4th century BC, and retained significance in the Parthian empire that came after the Seleucids in the 3rd century AD. The city slowly and over time fell into disrepair, so the prophecies about its violent destruction haven’t yet come to pass.

Revelation says Babylon sits on many peoples and many languages. We believe that since satan at the end of days is the King of Babylon, Babylon is any place that’s under his control and is part of his empire, and that the places which serve as Babylonian power centers at the end of days will see the devastating destruction prophesied in the Bible.
One of the King of Babylon’s headquarters at the end of days unfortunately will be Jerusalem.
Daniel says antichrist will pitch his palatial tents in the holy land, between the sea, towards the glorious holy mountain (Dan 11:45).
And the biggest indicator that Jerusalem will be Babylonian headquarters is antichrist’s abominable statue will be there. YASHUA said this statue (called the abomination of desolation) will stand in the holy place where it ought not – that’s in Jerusalem. And it’s from this location that the antichrist’s false prophet will command people to worship the beast or die (Revelation 13). Important note: Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon tried the same sort of thing in his day. But as a model for us in the last days, Father saved His righteous servants who wouldn’t bow down to the giant idol (Daniel 3).
Who are the People of Mystery Babylon?
Our view is that anyone around the world who is aligned with satan/antichrist King of Babylon is part of his empire and is therefore a Babylonian.
But the judgment at the end of days is in particular for those in Israel who are not in YASHUA and who align with satan.
YASHUA came to make it so that anyone who believes in Him can be a son or daughter of GOD MOST HIGH. HE came to make a generation of children. The flip side of that is if HE is not your Father, your Father is the devil. And the devil is the King of Babylon.
When YASHUA ministered here on earth, HE said to the Israelites who didn’t believe Him “If GOD were your Father, you would love me… you are of your father the devil.” (John 8)
If you’re from Judah or from any tribe of Israel and YASHUA is your GOD and King, GOD is your Father, not satan, and you’re not Mystery Babylon. You’re a beloved son or daughter of THE MOST HIGH which is what YASHUA wants you to be. You will be protected through what’s coming whether you live in Israel or anywhere in the world and HE has great plans for you in Millennium. You will have to live through watching judgment come upon the land of Israel and on family who are not in YASHUA just as we all will, but HE will wipe every tear from our eyes and heal our PTSD when HE comes.
YASHUA, who was of the tribe of Judah, said His mother and brothers are those who hear and do the word of GOD, not those who were of His own bloodline (Luke 8:21).
As servants of YASHUA, we should set our hearts the same way. Consider those words so you can bear this as we talk about the severe judgment that’s coming upon those in Israel who do not believe.
Again, YASHUA said to those who didn’t believe Him that their father is the devil and we know the devil is the King of Babylon. That means the King of Babylon has children.
Isaiah 14 agrees. It tells us that satan, the King of Babylon has sons and that those sons will be slaughtered for the guilt of their fathers (Isaiah 14:21).
This is a match for YASHUA’s prophecy – HE said the generation HE spoke to would be charged with the blood of the prophets that their fathers shed. That is, from that point on, the children of Israel whose Father is not GOD but whose father is the devil will be guilty of the blood of the prophets since the days of Abel.
Here’s what YASHUA said: “Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed. So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs. Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation.” (Luke 11:47-50) Revelation helps us identify Mystery Babylon as the unrighteous of Israel when it says Mystery Babylon is a harlot in whom “was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth” (Revelation 18:24) and that at her fall, GOD will have “avenged the blood of His servants at her hand” (Revelation 19:1-2).
Mystery Babylon’s Origin Story is in the Song of Moses
All of this starts with the Song of Moses. Not the horse-and-rider-are-thrown-into-the-sea Song of Moses, but the Song of Moses in Deuteronomy about the end of days judgment on His own people Israel who would act as a harlot, “whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land.” (Deuteronomy 31-32).
We just read how it says in Revelation that GOD will avenge the blood of His servants shed at the hand of the harlot Mystery Babylon. In the Song of Moses – Mystery Babylon’s origin story – HE tells the nations to rejoice because “HE will avenge the blood of His servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries.” (Deuteronomy 32:43)
The Song of Moses speaks of the end of days when THE LORD will judge His people and render vengeance to His enemies and reward those who hate Him. The Song makes it clear that His enemies are the descendants of Israel who are unmindful of Him and who have forgotten Him and who hate Him. Isaiah 1 has the same themes – harlotry and Him destroying those among His people who have made themselves His enemies.
Among the tribes of Israel today some are righteous, but some are unmindful, some have forgotten Him, and some flat out hate YASHUA. For those in Israel who love YASHUA, read the Song because there’s comfort for you in there. But for the rest of Israel, your judgment was pronounced long ago by Moses.
It is this judgment on the transgressors in Israel that those who overcome the antichrist at end of days are singing about. In Revelation it says, “they sing the song of Moses… for Thy judgments are made manifest.” (Revelation 15:3-4, Deuteronomy 32:41)
In the Song of Moses we read that the harlot’s wine is as the poison of dragons and the cruel venom of asps. This is one reason why YASHUA called the teachers of the day a “brood of vipers.” Vipers are poisonous and the teachings of the Pharisees were poison. Poison = death. Life is in YASHUA. The Pharisees denied YASHUA, so they promoted death. It’s that simple.
YASHUA said the teachers of His day not only would not enter the Kingdom themselves, they shut the door so that others couldn’t enter either. And HE was right – their teachings prevailed in the House of Judah. After YASHUA’s resurrection, Judah set up academies in the land of Babylon and put the Pharisees’ teachings into a series of books called the Babylonian Talmud which became the basis of their law and religion today. To many, the Babylonian Talmud is a great scholarly and religious work, but to Father, it’s poison that leads to death because it denies YASHUA who HE sent.
Revelation says people on earth have become drunk with the wine of the sexual immorality of Mystery Babylon. Meaning the harlot who forgets and forsakes her GOD has caused people worldwide to stumble. And the ultimate harlotry and causing to stumble will come when Israel accepts the antichrist and eventually worships an idol of satan in the land of Israel.
At first, satan will come in peaceably through the antichrist – he’s going to help set up the temple in Israel. As we discussed in our 2300 days video, what the Hebrew says is before he takes away the daily sacrifice, he actually lifts it up, and when it’s lifted up, that will be an act of casting truth to the ground because it denies YASHUA.
Daniel 11 says “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he [antichrist] corrupt by flatteries.” That means people of Israel will be part of the antichrist’s empire. And so will the priests of Israel. It’s written in Zephaniah 3: “Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city… Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.”
As we’ll show shortly, part of Father’s vengeance against Mystery Babylon will be for His temple. Not for Nebuchadnezzar burning His temple, but for the insult to YASHUA at the end of days and the abomination that will come to the temple.
When YASHUA returns, some of the people of Israel who don’t believe now will believe then and HE is going to have mercy on them. They’ll be like the workers in His parable who came at the last hour and got the same pay as the rest of the workers (Matthew 20).
They’ll see Him in the clouds and weep (Zechariah 12:10) because they were taught to hate Him but now they can see and they realize who HE is. Only GOD knows who is Mystery Babylon and who is Israel, so because of this, leave the judgment to Him and His angels. We’re thankful HE has opened our eyes and we pray for those whose eyes HE will open, whether they are House of Judah, House of Israel or of the nations.
When I was studying these things, HE brought this to mind:
When they brought the adulteress to YASHUA and said she should be stoned because she broke the law, the One who had written the law bent down and wrote with His finger twice on the ground as HE had written the law with His finger twice on the tablets for Moses – and the Lawgiver said, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”
And everyone there had to walk away, because everyone has sinned and broken His laws. It’s only by His grace and mercy that we’re not considered a harlot before His eyes and HE calls us His children.
Whether it’s the antichrist’s Babylon or the Babylon that is a religion without YASHUA, or Babylon the satanic world you live in, Babylon is a choice, so come out of her.
One day you won’t have a choice because anyone who hasn’t chosen YASHUA will take the mark – they’ll be a Babylonian.
Speaking of Babylon, Jeremiah wrote: “Go out of the midst of her, My people! Let every one save his life from the fierce anger of THE LORD!” (Jeremiah 51:45)
And in a chapter that is all about Jerusalem and not Babylon, Isaiah wrote: “Depart, depart, go out from there; touch no unclean thing; go out from the midst of her; purify yourselves, you who bear the vessels of THE LORD.” (Isaiah 52:11)
Those two parallel verses are one hint that end of days Jerusalem is Mystery Babylon.
Also, please note that it’s to His own people Israel that HE counsels come out of her.
“Come out of her, My people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
Babylon is a choice, come out of her.
Part 7
What Does Mystery Babylon Have to Do with Gog Magog?
If Mystery Babylon is associated with Israel and the land of Israel at the end of days, my question was this –
Within the unfulfilled prophecies about Babylon, is there an answer to who Father was talking about when HE said of Gog “Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them?”
I believe the answer is yes. Below are many scriptures that discuss the destruction of Babyloncoming from the north in the same way destruction comes to end of days Israel (Mystery Babylon) from the north.
Mystery Babylon, Destroyed from the North
Jeremiah 50:3, a word against Babylon: “For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.”
To be sure Jeremiah is talking about end times here and not Ancient Babylon, later in Jeremiah 50, in verse 20, he says “In those days, and in that time, saith THE LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.” These words cannot come to pass until the very end when the transgression in Judah and Israel is finished.
Jeremiah 50:9-10: “Lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain. And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith THE LORD.”
We believe this means the Gog armies will have some success in the Land of Israel when they attack, but once they come after the righteous people HE is protecting in the mountains, Father will destroy them.
Jeremiah 50:29 “Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.”
The word recompense also means reward. With that in mind, compare that last passage in Jeremiah to Revelation 18:6-7 which says this about Mystery Babylon: “Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself.”
Jeremiah 50:46: “At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.”
Compare this with Revelation 18:9 which says about Mystery Babylon “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning.”
Jeremiah 50:41: “Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.”
The above could very well be a description of the Gog armies. Jeremiah is talking about many nations here, with a focus on the north. The word coasts in that verse is yerekah in Hebrew and that word is also translated as remote parts and parts. You will see this same root word yarekah three times in Ezekiel where he talks about the Gog armies.
Jeremiah 50:42-44: “They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon. The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail. Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her.”
Previously Jeremiah said this army will come to spoil Babylon and will be satisfied, meaning they’ll be successful. But here, it sounds like at one point, GOD chases away the Gog armies. We see this same theme throughout the Scriptures when it comes to Gog Magog – the Gog armies are successful in defeating some in the Land because those in the Land are serving the antichrist and are under judgment, but they won’t be allowed to harm the righteous.
Jeremiah also mentions here that the King of Babylon becomes weak at the report from the north. This sounds like a possible match for something Daniel says. Daniel wrote that the antichrist will be fighting with the King of the South at the end of his reign when he gets troubling news from the east and the north. We think it’s possible that as he’s busy outside of the Land, he hears about the Gog Magog army (troubling news from the north) and the armies beginning to assemble for Armageddon (troubling news from the east).
Future Destruction of JerusalemJeremiah 51:6: “Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of THE LORD’S vengeance; HE will render unto her a recompence.”
This is the same sort of language as in the Song of Moses – it’s a time of His vengeance.
Jeremiah 51:11: “it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.”
Since these chapters of Jeremiah were not fulfilled in the days of Ancient Babylon and therefore have nothing to do with Nebuchadnezzar burning the temple, we believe what Father is talking about here is taking vengeance for the abomination of desolation.
Jeremiah 51:24: “And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.”
The evil in Zion in those days is the antichrist being headquartered there, the priests aligning with the blasphemous antichrist, and the people worshipping the satanic idol.
Jeremiah 51:27-28: “Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars. Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.”
In Jeremiah’s mention of the Medes, we have a possible connection to the armies of Gog. As mentioned earlier, in ancient times, Persians and Medes were used synonymously and Persia is part of Gog’s army. If this is true, then the captain Jeremiah mentions above is Gog himself.
Jeremiah 51:48-49: “Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith THE LORD. As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.”
All the slain of the earth falling at Babylon was certainly not fulfilled in Ancient Babylon. I think this may be pointing us to the Armageddon slaughter that’s coming in the land of Israel (Mystery Babylon).
Isaiah also talks about the future destruction of Babylon. In chapter 13, which starts with the words “the burden of Babylon,” we read: “Behold, the day of THE LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and HE shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.” (Isaiah 13:9-10)
This is clear end of days language.
In the same chapter Isaiah says: “Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.” (Isaiah 13:15-18)
Again, this kind of violence never happened to Ancient Babylon. The mention of the Medes here could be a reference to Persia coming with Gog and Gog having some success destroying the Mystery Babylonians in the Land of Israel. It may also align with Zechariah 14 which describes a ruthless army coming into the land just before YASHUA comes.
One question I had while looking into these matters is it’s clear in the Scriptures that Jerusalem will be a fruitful and blessed place where THE LORD will live in Millennium. But Babylon is prophesied to be a desolation from generation to generation forever and no one will live there. So how does Jerusalem/Israel being Babylon align with Babylon’s prophesied eternal destruction?
The simple answer is that Jerusalem will be destroyed and removed and New Jerusalem will come down in its place.
Let me show you.
Future Destruction of Jerusalem
We showed earlier that the Land will be in ruins in the last days, all the way until Millenium and that it will need to be rebuilt.
Here are a few more Scriptures that speak specifically of Jerusalem’s future destruction.
Zephaniah 1 says, speaking of the Day of THE LORD, “I will also stretch out Mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem… and them that are turned back from THE LORD; and those that have not sought THE LORD, nor inquired for Him… the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy.”
Isaiah 26:5: “For HE has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. HE lays it low, lays it low to the ground.”
From Isaiah 29: “Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! Add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow… And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. And thou shalt be brought down… Thou shalt be visited of THE LORD OF HOSTS with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.”
From Zephaniah 1, about the Day of THE LORD: “And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, THE LORD will not do good, neither will HE do evil… Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of THE LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy: for HE shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.” Isaiah 60:10: “And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee…”
Earthquakes and Land Mass Movements Will Also Destroy Modern-Day Jerusalem
When YASHUA returns, Zechariah says the Mount of Olives will split in two (Zechariah 14:4).
Revelation says the greatest earthquake of all time will occur as part of GOD’s final wrath and that it will cause the City to split into three parts (Revelation 16:9).
Zechariah says in the Day of THE LORD, the whole land from Geba to Rimmon (roughly the length of the Dead Sea north to south) will turn into a plain and Jerusalem will rise up (Zechariah 14:10).
Isaiah 2:2 says, “It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of THE LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it.”
And there are numerous Scriptures that talk about mountains being laid low and melting before Him when HE comes.
A few examples:
Isaiah 40:4: “Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; the uneven ground will become smooth, and the rugged land a plain.”
Isaiah 2:12-15: “the day of THE LORD OF HOSTS shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, and upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, and upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall”
Ps 97:5: “The hills melted like wax at the presence of THE LORD, at the presence of THE LORD of the whole earth.”
Nahum 1:5: “The mountains quake at Him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at His presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before His indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him.”
Micah 1:3-4: “For behold, THE LORD is coming out of his place, and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains will melt under Him, and the valleys will split open, like wax before the fire, like waters poured down a steep place.”
Habakkuk 3:6 “HE stood and measured the earth; HE looked and shook the nations; then the eternal mountains were scattered; the everlasting hills sank low.”
All of the above is a lot of land mass movement and shaking of the earth! So, not only do the Scriptures speak of Jerusalem being destroyed with fire as we showed above – we can also logically conclude that it will become ruins through this series of earth-altering mega quakes and land mass movements at THE LORD’S return.
The Coming New Jerusalem
It’s the Jerusalem that is above that is mother of us all (Galatians 4:26), and it’s written that Jerusalem from above will descend (Revelation 21-22).
One witness to the city of New Jerusalem descending to earth is in the Book of Enoch (1 Enoch).
Before you stop reading here, note that the same way Bible teachers pass down well-meaning but false teachings about Israel, the church has also spread a lot of false teachings about Enoch. However, the truth about Enoch being Scripture is starting to come out, in large part because it’s obvious to many that the book serves as a key and sometimes only witness for a lot of things in the Bible. Even most scholars today admit that YASHUA and the apostles read 1 Enoch, considered it to be true, and that many parts of the New Testament were influenced by it.
Getting back to New Jerusalem descending, Enoch saw a vision of the end of days, and in it we see the same order of events that was revealed in the Old and New Testaments.
Enoch says that when THE LORD OF THE SHEEP comes, HE will strike the earth with the staff of His wrath and the earth will split – this is the Mt. of Olives splitting at YASHUA’s return (Zechariah 14:4).
Next, Enoch saw the throne of THE LORD OF THE SHEEP being set up in the Land – I believe this is the land from Geba to Rimmon being turned into a plain and Mt. Zion, the place of His throne, being raised up above all mountains (Zechariah 14:10).
Next, Enoch saw the judgment being held by THE LORD OF THE SHEEP – This is when YASHUA separates the sheep from the goats at His return (Matthew 25:31-32.)
After the judgment, Enoch saw the old house (Jerusalem) folded up and placed in the south of the land – As shown previously, we believe by the time YASHUA holds Judgment, the modern city of Jerusalem will be a heap of ruins destroyed by fire from GOD and earthquakes. Here we believe Enoch sees this heap of ruins being removed from its place and moved to the south of the Land.
We believe this heap of ruins that was once Jerusalem and has been moved to the south will be a perpetual desolation and hissing and that its smoke will rise forever as all the prophets who prophesied about Babylon foresaw.
In Jeremiah is a possible witness to the removal of modern-day Jerusalem.
“Behold, the days come, saith THE LORD, that the city shall be built to THE LORD… it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.” (Jeremiah 31:38-40)
That verse implies that at one point in time, Jerusalem is plucked up and thrown down, but that it won’t happen again. When is Jerusalem plucked up and thrown down? After the judgment, as Enoch described.
Next, Enoch saw THE LORD OF THE SHEEP bring a new house, greater and bigger than the old one, and HE set it up in the same place as the first one – we believe this is New Jerusalem coming down on the newly raised Mt. Zion. That is, on the same coordinates where HE has always chosen to put His Name, HE will cause New Jerusalem to descend.
In Former Days
We’ve just gone on a rather long tangent to explain that when YHVH said to Gog “Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them,” HE was likely referring to prophecies in the Old Testament about an alliance of nations coming to attack Babylon. And we showed how, prophetically, those in Israel who are aligned with antichrist are indeed Mystery Babylon at the end of days.
Let’s get back now to our reading in Ezekiel so we can get a full picture of the battle of Gog Magog. Along the way, we’ll begin discussing when these things will take place.
Part 8
Gog Magog: 5 Minutes to Armageddon
Let’s continue reading what Ezekiel said about Gog Magog so we get the full picture. Along the way, we’ll begin discussing the timing of Gog Magog.
Continuing with Ezekiel 38:18:
“But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares THE LORD GOD, My wrath will be roused in My anger. For in My jealousy and in My blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at My presence. And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground.”
The Scriptures speak of many earthquakes occurring in the end times and some confuse this Gog Magog quake with the global earthquake at Armageddon. However, Ezekiel tells us here that this quake will occur in the land of Israel. Along those lines, where you see the word “earth” in the passage above, the Hebrew word used is the same as the word for ground (adamah), so a worldwide quake is not implied.
“I will summon a sword against Gog on all My mountains, declares THE LORD GOD. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him, and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples who are with him torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur. So I will show My greatness and My holiness and make Myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am THE LORD.”
For many reasons, I believe YASHUA is in the clouds at this point in time and that our catching up to Him will be at the end of this battle. I’ll elaborate on this shortly, but for now, compare the above to Psalm 18 which is a prophecy of GOD coming to our rescue at the end of days with an earthquake, hailstones, and fire.
“Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because HE was wroth… At the brightness that was before Him His thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire. The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave His voice; hail stones and coals of fire.” (Psalm 18:7,12-13)
HE Will Not Let His Holy Name Be Profaned Anymore
Continuing with Ezekiel 39:1, we read:
“And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus says THE LORD GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. And I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up from the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will strike your bow from your left hand, and will make your arrows drop out of your right hand.
You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your hordes and the peoples who are with you. I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. You shall fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares THE LORD GOD. I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they shall know that I am THE LORD. And My Holy Name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let My Holy Name be profaned anymore. And the nations shall know that I am THE LORD, the Holy One in Israel.”
It’s clear from those words that after the Gog Magog battle, Father won’t allow His Name to be profaned anymore. Some think to profane means to speak bad things against GOD. But here is a fuller understanding:
In Hebrew the words for profane (chol, noun and chalal, verb) are used as the opposite of holy.
Here’s one example: “Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned (chalal) My holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common (chol).” (Ezekiel 22:26)
Since holy and profane are opposites, to understand the meaning of profane, it helps to understand the meaning of holy.
The Hebrew word for holy is qodesh, spelled quf-dalet-shin in the original Hebrew. In the original Hebrew script, qodesh (holy) is a picture of GOD shining His light on something.
The letter quf ק is a picture of the sun at the horizon and is used often in Hebrew words to mean light.
The letter dalet ד is a picture of a tent door and as a tent door hangs down, the letter dalet is used often in Hebrew words to mean down.
The letter shin ש is a picture of front teeth and is used often in Hebrew words to mean front.
So the whole word qodesh קדש is a picture of Father bringing His light down in front of something.
GOD is light so HE, above all, is holy and HE is the source of all holiness. Apart from Him, nothing can be made holy.
Israel is the holy people because HE shined His light on them and calls them by His Holy Name (the EL in Israel is one of Father’s names).
HE declared Israel to be a holy people and a nation of His priests (Exodus 19:6), and therefore they were to be a source of showing GOD’s light and holiness to all the nations.
But they profaned the holiness HE gave them by walking in darkness. And since they are called by His Name, His Name is also profaned because of their sins (Ezekiel 22:26, et al.).
Importantly, Him having to kick the holy people off His land for their harlotry profanes His Holy Name in all the nations to which they are scattered. His name is treated as unholy (chol) among all the nations because of this.
“But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned My Holy Name, in that people said of them, ‘These are the people of THE LORD, and yet they had to go out of His land.’” (Ezekiel 36:20)
After Gog Magog, the scattering of Israel will be over – we’re going to read in Ezekiel shortly about how after Gog Magog HE won’t leave any Israelites in exile anymore after this. So if His Name is profaned by the scattering of Israel and the scattering ends, then the profaning of His Name likewise ends.
The profaning of His Name also ends after Gog Magog because the purge in the wilderness will be complete and the ones who inherit the Land in the days to come will be righteous Israel who will remove abominations from it. When those who are called by His name are living how HE said they should live and where HE said they should live, then His Holy Name will no longer be profaned among the nations.
Continuing with Ezekiel 39:8, we read:
“Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares THE LORD GOD. That is the day of which I have spoken. Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, clubs and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years…”
Note that Ezekiel speaks here of those “in the cities.” This will be important in a moment.
“…so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they will make their fires of the weapons. They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares THE LORD GOD.”
It’s the city dwellers who plunder those who plundered them which shows that some plundering will indeed occur in the cities when Gog comes down. As we said before, the Gog armies will have success among those living in the main part of Israel since the Land is under judgment. Second Exodus Israel won’t dwell in cities – we’ll dwell in the mountains, in the ruins, without walls or gates. But among the city dwellers are the ones of Judah who HE will save in the end to fulfill the many prophecies about His mercy on a remnant of Judah (Joel 2:32, et al).
“On that day I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog. For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land. All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that I show My glory, declares THE LORD GOD.”
As we saw earlier, the beginning of Millennium will be a time of rebuilding the ruins and cleansing the Land. This is part of it.
“They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make their search. And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog. (Hamonah is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they cleanse the land.
As for you, son of man, thus says THE LORD GOD: Speak to the birds of every sort and to all beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them fat beasts of Bashan. And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you. And you shall be filled at My table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares THE LORD GOD.
And I will set My glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My hand that I have laid on them. The house of Israel shall know that I am THE LORD their GOD, from that day forward.
And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with Me that I hid My face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid My face from them.”
Note it says the house of Israel above. By this time, the nations will know there’s a GOD and that everything the prophets wrote about the House of Israel tribes being lost and regathered is true. Also, it’s the House of Israel who will know HE is their GOD from that day forward.
The End of Judah’s Exile
Continuing with Ezekiel 39:25, we read:
“Therefore thus says THE LORD GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My Holy Name.”
Note the above says whole house of Israel which means the House of Israel and the House of Judah. After Gog Magog is complete the House of Israel is fully purged and HE will now turn His attention to the House of Judah.
It’s translated above that HE says Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob, but what it literally says in Hebrew is Now I will bring back the captives/exiles of Jacob. (In Hebrew, the word for captives is the same as the word for exiles).
The captives/exiles of Jacob at this point in time are those who were not part of the Second Exodus. This passage of Ezekiel possibly refers to those from the House of Judah who were exiled right before the great Tribulation (Luke 21), or to those from the House of Judah who will exiled immediately before Armageddon (more on this shortly when we look at the timeline).
To be sure, the Scriptures speak of the exile of the House of Israel and the House of Judah as two separate things.
One example is in Jeremiah: “And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.” (Jeremiah 33:7)
And Ezekiel gives us the timing of the end of Judah’s exile. Speakingof Judah, he writes:
“When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy [Judah’s] captives in the midst of them… When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou [Judah] and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.” (Ezekiel 16:53-55)
So Judah’s exile won’t be over until both Samaria and Sodom are restored and out of exile.
Samaria symbolizes the House of Israel since it was the capital city of the lost tribes.
Sodom, according to Revelation 11:8, symbolizes Jerusalem.
Samaria’s restoration will be complete once the tribes inherit the Land, and Sodom’s restoration will be complete when YASHUA reigns from Mt. Zion. At the end of Gog Magog, these things are around the corner, but are not yet. But now HE says, at the end of Gog Magog, now HE will begin the final process of restoring the whole house of Israel. Part of that process includes ridding Himself of those who profane His Name.
We believe at the end of Gog Magog anyone who is in YASHUA HA MASHIACH – whether from the tribes of Israel or from the nations – will be caught up to Him in the air while HE pours out His final bowls of wrath on the harlot part of Israel.
We call Gog Magog “5 minutes to Armageddon” because after Gog Magog, time is up and it’s time for the Day of THE LORD.
Let’s finish Ezekiel’s words in chapter 39 before we get into the timeline:
“They shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against Me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid, when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies’ lands, and through them have vindicated My holiness in the sight of many nations.
Then they shall know that I am THE LORD their GOD because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. And I will not hide My face anymore from them, when I pour out My Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares THE LORD GOD.”

We’re including those events here to present a full picture of the end-times timeline.
Proposed Order of Events Prior to the Day of THE LORD:
Year 1, Month 1, Day 15
Daniel’s final week of 7 years begins on Aviv 15, with the first 14 days having already been fulfilled by YASHUA. (We explain this here.)
Year 1, Month 3, Day 7
The antichrist comes in peaceably and in some way helps initiate the lifting up of sacrifices in the Land. These daily sacrifices start the final 2,300 days mentioned in Daniel. (We explain this here.)
Year 3, Month 11, Day 1
The 1335 day Second Exodus begins when Father starts gathering the lost sheep of the 12 tribes of Israel who are scattered throughout the earth. (We explain this here.) HE will protect them in the wilderness of the nations wherever they are. They may be in separate groups around the world. By the end of the seven years, at least some of them will be in the mountains of Israel to witness His deliverance.
Year 3, Month 12, Day 16
Armies surround Jerusalem. Some in the Land are killed by the sword and some are exiled. The antichrist causes sacrifices to stop in preparation for the abomination of desolation (the idol of himself that will stand in the holy place). This begins the 1290 days mentioned in Daniel. At the end of this document, there’s a table showing that war comes to Jerusalem just before the abomination of desolation.
Year 4, Month 1, Day 1:
The antichrist is given 42 months of authority. (Rev 13:5)
The abomination of desolation idol is given life & satan worshippers receive the mark. (Rev 13:14-18)
The nations will trample the city for the next 42 months. (Luke 21:24, Rev 11:2)
The Two Witnesses begin prophesying for 1260 days and strike the antichrist worshippers with various plagues. (Rev 11:3-6)
Second Exodus Israel, which includes the body of CHRIST and the regathered tribes of Israel, is nourished and protected by GOD wherever they are. (Rev 12:13-16)
The 144,000 will be persecuted and martyred during the next 42 months. (Rev 12:17, 13:5-8, and 14:4-5)
Year 7, Month 6, Day 17
The Two Witnesses are killed. Antichrist’s worshippers throw a 3.5 day party celebrating the death of the two prophets who terrorized them. We think this party is a good candidate for the people saying “peace and safety!” right before sudden destruction as Paul describes. (Rev 11:7-10, 1 Thess 5:3)
Year 7, Month 6, Day 21
The Two Witnesses are raised from the dead and called up into a cloud. (Rev 11:11-12)
An earthquake causes 1/10th of the city of Jerusalem to fall. (Rev 11:13)
Gog Magog occurs sometime in the next 10 days (exact date not known). (Eze 38-39)
The Gog armies will have some success making war with Jerusalem and other cities in Israel, but when they get the idea to attack Second Exodus Israel in the mountains, GOD intervenes.
An earthquake at the end of Gog Magog causes the remaining walls in the Land of Israel to fall. (Eze 38:19-20)
YASHUA defeats Gog and anyone in CHRIST – dead or alive – is gathered by His angels to meet Him in the air. (Matt 24:31, et al.)
Psalm 18:7-15
“Then the earth reeled and rocked;
the foundations also of the mountains trembled
and quaked, because HE was angry.
Smoke went up from His nostrils,
and devouring fire from His mouth;
glowing coals flamed forth from Him.
HE bowed the heavens and came down;
thick darkness was under His feet.
HE rode on a cherub and flew;
HE came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
HE made darkness His covering, His canopy around Him,
thick clouds dark with water.
Out of the brightness before Him
hailstones and coals of fire broke through His clouds.THE LORD also thundered in the heavens,
and THE MOST HIGH uttered His voice,
hailstones and coals of fire.
And HE sent out His arrows and scattered them;
HE flashed forth lightnings and routed them.
Then the channels of the sea were seen,
and the foundations of the world were laid bare
at your rebuke, O LORD,
at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.HE sent from on high, HE took me;
HE drew me out of many waters.
HE rescued me from my strong enemy
and from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but THE LORD was my support.
HE brought me out into a broad place;
HE rescued me, because HE delighted in me.”
We believe Gog Magog and our gathering to YASHUA in the air has to occur in the 10 days between the raising of the Two Witnesses and the final Yom Teruah of Daniel’s 70th week.
We say after the Two Witnesses because the entire city is standing when they are raised up and only 1/10th of it falls, whereas at Gog Magog it’s implied that all walls in Israel fall.
As for why we say before Yom Teruah, here’s an excerpt from To the Watchmen, Part 3, End Times Prophecies:
“YASHUA is saying that the same way you can see a tree budding and know that the next season is summer, you can see all these things HE described and understand how close we are to the end and His return.
We believe “summer” in YASHUA’s parable is likened to the End because it’s the season when everything is to be gathered in from the fields.
Enoch said all fruits are gathered in by the last day of summer in Father’s calendar.
Jeremiah also agrees that harvest is complete by the time summer is over, when he laments “The harvest has passed, the summer has ended, but we have not been saved.” (Jeremiah 8:20)
15 days after the end of summer is the Feast of Ingathering (also called Tabernacles). This Feast was to be celebrated after the harvest when the people had gathered in everything from the fields. (Leviticus 23:39)
YASHUA gives us another parable where HE says the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels who will gather His wheat into His barn and gather the wicked into bundles to be burned (Matthew 13).
And in Revelation we read about two reaping angels, one who reaps the earth, and the next one who gathers the grapes of the vine of the earth. This “vine of the earth” – that is, the fruit of this world that’s not in YASHUA – gets cast into the great winepress of the wrath of GOD.
We’re not appointed to the wrath described in the Scriptures as the Day of THE LORD. So we expect that before His Day starts, those who are His will be gathered to Him, and those who are His enemies will be gathered to the battle of Armageddon for their judgment (HalleluYAH).
If these gatherings happen by the end of summer, it would make a lot of sense since on Father’s calendar, once summer ends, it’s Yom Teruah – the Day of Teruah. And the Day of THE LORD is literally called a “day of Teruah” in the book of Zephaniah (Zephaniah 1:16).”
Year 7, Month 7, Day 1
The final Yom Teruah of the age
The time is now the DAY OF THE LORD.
Proposed Order of Events in the Day of THE LORD:
Antichrist’s authority is over.
GOD pours out His final wrath on the Kingdom of the Beast (Mystery Babylon) and worshippers of the beast suffer sores, darkness & waters turning to blood. Sea creatures die. Euphrates dries. Armies gather for Armageddon. (Rev 16)
The sign of THE SON OF MAN remains in the sky and some in Judah repent. (Zech 12:10-14)
His feet land on Mt. Olives. We’re with Him. HE creates a valley to Azal where we can get out of the way while HE fights. (Zech 14:4-5)
Armies attack the Land. The remnant in Judah who HE will save fights and HE strengthens them like David. (Zechariah 12:8-14, poss Zech 14:1-2, Joel 2:1-11, 2:30-3:16)
HE hides us and the remnant of Judah while HE fights Armageddon and before the earthquake that’s coming.
Psalm 27:5: “For HE will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; HE will conceal me under the cover of His tent; HE will lift me high upon a rock.”
Isaiah 26:20-21: “Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, THE LORD cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.”
Isaiah 27:1-3: “In that day THE LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and HE shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. In that day sing ye unto her, a vineyard of red wine. I THE LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.”
Joel 3:16: “THE LORD will roar from Zion and raise His voice from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will tremble. But THE LORD will be a refuge for His people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.”
Enoch 100:4-5: “And THE MOST HIGH will arise on that day of judgment to execute great judgment amongst sinners. And over all the righteous and holy HE will appoint guardians from amongst the holy angels to guard them as the apple of an eye.”
The whole world experiences the biggest earthquake of all time and the cities of the nations fall. (Rev 16:18-19)
The Armageddon armies are slain.
The land from Geba to Rimmon is made flat and Mt. Zion rises above all the mountains. This establishes His throne on earth. Old Jerusalem is now in utter ruins from all the earthquakes and land movements. (Zech 14:10, et al.)
The Judgment is held. THE LORD OF THE SHEEP separates the sheep from the goats. HE has mercy on a remnant of Judah and on those from the nations who were kind to His followers who HE considers His brothers (“My mother and My brothers are those who hear the word of GOD and do it” Luke 8:21). This mercy to the nations will be the ultimate fulfillment of the promise to Abraham that we inherit through YASHUA: HE will bless those who bless us. Details on that are in Matthew 25:31-40. Here’s an excerpt:
“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed Me, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘LORD, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? And when did we see You a stranger and welcome You, or naked and clothe You? And when did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me.’”
Satan is bound for 1,000 years. (Rev 20:1-3)
The ruins of Old Jerusalem are removed to the South. (1 Enoch 90:28)
New Jerusalem comes down on the newly raised Mount Zion. (Rev 21; 1 Enoch 90:29)
Cleanup begins. We bury Gog, remove abominations from the land & rebuild the ruins. (Eze 39:11-16, Eze 11:18, et al.)
We build His temple according to Ezekiel’s measurements and instructions. (Eze 40-48)
The Land is allotted to the tribes of Israel. (Eze 45, 47-48)
All those in YASHUA receive inheritance as native-born children of Israel. (Eze 47:22)
Land is allotted to King David and the Holy District is established as YHVH’s portion within the land of David, with the temple and New Jerusalem in His portion. And New Jerusalem shall be called YHVH SHAMMAH which means THE LORD IS THERE. (Eze 45, 47-48)
YASHUA reigns. Hallelu YAH!
Part 10
Addressing Other Theories on Timing
Where we place Gog Magog on the end-times timeline differs from all the popular theories on when Gog Magog occurs. I think we’ve outlined our reasoning pretty well by this point, but let’s briefly address why we disagree with the three most commonly held views.
Why Gog Magog Cannot Occur Before the Tribulation
Many believe that Gog Magog will happen either before the last seven years of the age or before the final 3.5 years. However, Ezekiel says that after Gog Magog, Father won’t allow His Name to be profaned anymore. As discussed previously, the profaning of His Name will continue as long as the 12 tribes of Israel live outside the promised Land.
Israel cannot inherit the Land while the nations are trampling Jerusalem, which they will do for the final 42 months of the age. Also, Ezekiel and other prophets describe the tribes inheriting the Land in Millenium when YASHUA dwells among us (Ezekiel 48, et al.).
The Gog Magog before Tribulation theory has Father saying His Name won’t be profaned followed by several years in which His Name is profaned because Israel remains scattered. For us, that makes this theory an impossibility.
This view has been popular for a long time among those who believe Israel has already been regathered and that the House of Judah in the State of Israel represents all Israel. For those who still hold this view, consider the chapters in Ezekiel right after Gog Magog in which Ezekiel sees the Land of Israel being allotted to all 12 tribes, with a new temple being built and YHVH there among His people (Ezekiel 40-48).

Why Ezekiel’s Gog Magog is Not at the End of Millenium
Earlier, we mentioned that at the Judgment, satan will be bound for 1,000 years. In Revelation, the words “Gog and Magog” are found in the passage about his eventual release.
“And when the thousand years are ended, satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them” Revelation 20:7-9
Some believe this reference to Gog and Magog in Revelation is speaking of the same battle that Ezekiel wrote about. One of the main reasons they give is they (understandably) cannot reconcile how Israel dwells safely as Ezekiel describes before YASHUA returns since there will be wars in Israel throughout the end of days.
However, as we explained, Ezekiel’s prophecy is not about the State of Israel, it’s about the Israel Father gathers in the Second Exodus. As HE was with His people through His judgments and in the wilderness in the First Exodus, HE will also be with us in the Second Exodus. We will be fed, nourished and no one can hurt us because HE will be with us as the Angel of THE LORD was with Israel in the days of Moses.
“I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob;
I will gather the remnant of Israel…
I will set them together
like sheep in a fold,
like a flock in its pasture,
a noisy multitude of men…
Their King passes on before them,
YHVH at their head.” Micah 2:12-13“For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for THE LORD will go before you, and the GOD of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:12
If you were to listen to a news report about Egypt at the time of the First Exodus, it would sound like the world was ending – crop failures, economic ruin, waters turned to blood, plagues – yet in Egypt, Israel lived securely because His mighty hand covered them. In the same way, Second Exodus Israel will live securely wherever HE guides us to, including in the mountains of war-torn Israel when we get there.
Besides this, Ezekiel’s battle of Gog Magog simply cannot wait for the end of Millennium. Here are a few reasons why:
- As explained previously, the profaning of Father’s Name ends once HE puts an end to Israel’s harlotry and allows the 12 tribes to inherit the Land. Both of those things happen at the beginning of Millennium, not at the end. As we saw earlier, Father says after Gog Magog, HE won’t leave any of Israel among the nations anymore.
- Ezekiel records that after Gog Magog Father will no longer hide His face from Israel because HE has poured out His Spirit on them. HE doesn’t hide His face from Israel all throughout Millennium and wait 1,000 years to pour out His Spirit on them. The Scriptures are clear that in Millennium HE will guide His people. One example of that is in Isaiah 30:21: “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”
- Part of the purpose of Ezekiel’s Gog Magog is so the nations will know HE is GOD. HE wants the nations to know about Him and to be part of His Kingdom. HE will show them Gog Magog as a sign of His power so they align with Him in the days to come when HE rules the whole world. HE wants alignment and obedience for their own sakes – so they can live. And the nations will indeed be part of His kingdom, with the kings of the earth bringing their glory to Jerusalem in Millennium. (Revelation 21:24, Isaiah 60:3)
So what does it mean in Revelation where it mentions Gog and Magog?
Satan is the satanic spirit who possesses the antichrist in the end times, and for this he is called King of Babylon in the Scriptures. We believe it is also satan who possesses Gog and makes him think he can conquer Second Exodus Israel, and for this satan is also called Gog.
Just like everyone who is aligned with the King of Babylon is a Babylonian, anyone aligned with the satanic Gog is Magog.
In Hebrew, if you add the letter mem מ (m) to the beginning of a word, it means “from.”
A few examples:
The Hebrew word for judging is shaphat. From judging comes a judgment. Add an m to shaphat שפט and you get mishpat משפט, a judgment.
The Hebrew word for commanding is tsevah. From commanding comes a commandment. Add an m to tsevah צוה and you get mitzvah מצוה, a commandment.
Likewise, from the satanic Gog come those from Gog. Add an m to Gog גג and you get Magog מגג.
At the end of Millennium, some people will once again choose satan as their father, and they will be immediately judged for it.
One last note about the end of Millennium theory is location. The battle in Revelation is focused on the city of Jerusalem which in those days will be a walled city on a single mountain surrounded by a huge plain, whereas Ezekiel describes people in living in the mountains (plural) without walls or gates.
Why Gog Magog is Not the Same as Armageddon
Some think Gog Magog is the same event as Armageddon. The main reason people believe this is timing – they understand, as we do, that in order to align with all the Scriptures, the events Ezekiel describes have to happen at the end of the age.
We believe that although Gog Magog is near the time of Armageddon, it’s a completely different battle.
Here are a few reasons:
The Parties Involved are Different:
Armageddon involves all nations whereas Gog Magog involves select nations.
Revelation 16 says demonic spirits go to all kings of the earth to assemble them for Armageddon.
Zechariah 14:16 says “every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, THE LORD OF HOSTS, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.” If Gog Magog is the same as Armageddon, this means only people from Persia, Cush, Put etc. are required to come for the Feast.
Some claim that the list of nations in Ezekiel is somehow representative of all nations of the world, however Sheba and Dedan are clearly not with the Gog Magog confederacy (Ezekiel 38:13).
Also worth noting: Armageddon involves the kings of the east and the angels need to dry the River Euphrates so these kings can cross over it. (Revelation 16:12). In Gog Magog, it could be argued that only Persia comes from the east. Persia may have many kings, but if it was only Persia in Armageddon, the drying of the River likely wouldn’t be necessary since even in ancient times, armies would cross the Euphrates with relative ease. However, if Armageddon is indeed talking about all the kings of the east needing to cross over at the same time (China, India, etc.), then the need to dry the River makes more sense.
The Locations are Different:
At Armageddon, armies are gathered to Megiddo in the Jezreel Valley, armies surround Jerusalem, and YASHUA is at the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem.
At Gog Magog, the focus is on the mountains of Israel which are east of the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea, far east from Megiddo and east of Jerusalem. Gog’s burial is described as blocking passengers coming from east of the Sea – this further indicates that Ezekiel is talking about the mountains east of the Dead Sea, far from Jerusalem and Megiddo.

Death and Destruction are Different in Gog Magog and Armageddon
- Gog Magog has an earthquake in the land of Israel whereas in Armageddon, the cities of whole world fall.
- Similarly, at Gog Magog, Father sends fire on the land of Magog and on certain coastlands, whereas at Armageddon, the cities of whole world fall.
- Gog fighters are killed in various ways including when they turn on each other, and when GOD kills them with hail, pestilence, fire and brimstone. Armageddon fighters also turn on one another, but Zechariah 14 describes them and their animals dying because “their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.”
The Captain of the Armies
Some who believe Gog Magog is Armageddon say that Gog is the antichrist. However, antichrist conquers the Land just before the great Tribulation, 42 months before the end of the age. His kingdom will be firmly established in the Land for the entirety of those 42 months as evidenced his statue, his false prophet, his priests and his allies all being headquartered there. So we don’t think the has any need to invade and conquer Israel again at the end of the 42 months.
Antichrist’s final campaign is described in Daniel 11 and Daniel says he goes to make war with the King of the South before he heads back to the Land to meet his end.
Also Worth Noting: the Timing of Father’s Wrath
If Gog Magog is the same as Armageddon, then believers will have to be here on earth through His final wrath since Armageddon is part of the bowls of wrath. After all, Revelation says the sixth bowl dries the River to make way for the kings of the east to be gathered to Armageddon.
As we showed earlier, we don’t think we’re here for His final bowls of wrath. And I think many people who believe Gog Magog is Armageddon also consider themselves pre-wrath, meaning they agree with us that they won’t be here for the bowls of wrath.
I don’t know how proponents of the Gog Magog is Armageddon theory reconcile their pre-wrath stance, but in our view, the two theories seem to be incompatible.
Part 11
Gog Magog in the Book of Enoch
The Book of Enoch has much to say about the upcoming time of tribulation, and in his book, I believe there is at least one reference to the battle of Gog Magog.
From 1 Enoch, chapters 56 and 57:
“And in those days the angels shall return and hurl themselves to the east upon the Parthians and Medes.”
As mentioned earlier, in ancient times, Persians and Medes were often used synonymously and Parthians were sometimes referred to as Persians since all of these parties occupied the same land (modern Iran). Here in Enoch with the mention of Parthians and Medes, we may have a link to Ezekiel’s mention of Persia being part of the Gog Magog armies.
“They shall stir up the kings so that a spirit of unrest shall come upon them, and they shall rouse them from their thrones, that they may break forth as lions from their lairs, And as hungry wolves among their flocks.
And they shall go up and tread under foot the land of His elect ones, and the land of His elect ones shall be before them a threshing-floor and a highway: but the city of My righteous shall be a hindrance to their horses.”
Here we see again that the Gog armies do have some success in making war with the Land of Israel. Enoch says they tread it underfoot and that the Land will be a threshing-floor.
Compare that to Jeremiah 51:33: “For thus saith THE LORD OF HOSTS, the GOD of Israel; the daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.” (As a sidenote, that verse in Jeremiah also implies that Gog Magog comes before Armageddon – the Land is threshed as in Gog Magog before the harvest of the vine of the earth which is at Armageddon.)
Even though the kings make some headway in their war with Israel, Enoch says the city of GOD’s righteous will be a hindrance to them.
We believe the city here is not a walled city, but rather Enoch is writing about Father’s righteous children who HE is protecting in the mountains of Israel. The Bible likewise refers to His people as Zion, a city (Isaiah 51:16, et al.). To be sure, the actual city of Jerusalem at this time will by no means be a city of righteous people – it will be host to the antichrist and his worshippers.
Here’s what happens when the kings meet their hindrance:
“And they shall begin to fight among themselves, and their right hand shall be strong against themselves, and a man shall not know his brother, nor a son his father or his mother, till there be no number of the corpses through their slaughter, and their punishment be not in vain.”
This sounds a lot like Ezekiel which says every man’s sword will be against his brother (Ezekiel 38:21).
“In those days Sheol shall open its jaws, and they shall be swallowed up therein and their destruction shall be at an end; Sheol shall devour the sinners in the presence of the elect.’”
In those days Sheol will devour the sinners because Judgment Day is coming shortly thereafter where YASHUA will cast some into the abyss.
“And it came to pass after this that I saw another host of wagons, and men riding thereon, and coming on the winds from the east, and from the west to the south.”
Note the words “after this.” After what sounds like the Gog Magog battle, Enoch sees another host coming, notably some of them from the east! We believe this aligns with our understanding of Armageddon occurring as something separate and immediately after Gog Magog.
Part 12
Conclusion
If there’s one thing you take away from this study of Gog Magog, let it be this: Father will protect His righteous children no matter what happens here on this earth.
In our understanding of Gog Magog, we see ourselves living securely with cattle and goods at a time when the antichrist’s false prophet is telling people they need to worship the beast or die.
In those days, they’ll tell us we need to take a mark and bow down, otherwise we can’t buy or sell and therefore we will starve and die. Don’t fall for it!
Here is what our MIGHTY GOD says to the wicked about us in these days, from Isaiah 65:
“Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry; behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty; behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be put to shame; behold, My servants shall sing for gladness of heart, but you shall cry out for pain of heart and shall wail for breaking of spirit.”
In that same chapter, Father gives us a glimpse into the days to come:
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress.”
And:
“Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.”
Thank you Father for Your good words and for your mercy חסד to the whole house of Israel and to all Your children.
Shalom to our brothers and sisters in YASHUA HA MASHIACH.
Shalom unto Jerusalem.

Appendix 2: War Comes to Jerusalem Before the Abomination of Desolation
Luke 21:20-24 | Matthew 24:15-21 | Mark 13:14-19 |
When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. | So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), | But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), |
Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. | then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. | then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! Pray that it may not happen in winter. For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that GOD created until now, and never will be. |
