Book of Enoch Bible Study Ep 2 | Good News for Saints, Bad News for Sinners (Chapters 2-5)

Bad news for those who forsake THE LORD and good news for those in CHRIST JESUS. As one example of the good news from the Book of Enoch, the prophet wrote that when the righteous get to Millennium, we won’t have to worry about sinning because GOD will keep us in The Way.

This is part 2 of a full study of the Book of Enoch (also known as 1 Enoch). In this series, we’re reading through the entire Book of Enoch, providing commentary on each chapter, and discussing parallel Scriptures from the Bible.

Thanks for watching, and hope you enjoy.

Transcript:

In these next few chapters of the book of Enoch, we’re going to see how God our Father has given commands to His creation and how creation follows our Father’s commands. But some of the people who Father gave commands to don’t listen to Him.

For those people, and for the godless and for the sinners, Enoch has bad news. But for the righteous, there is a lot of good news in the next few chapters.

Chapter 2, verse 1, “Observe ye everything that takes place in the heaven, how they do not change their orbits, the luminaries which are in the heaven, how they all rise and set in order each in its season, and transgress not against their appointed order.”

Enoch here is referring to the sun, moon, and stars, the luminaries and you can go outside day or night and you will see every single day that the sun, the moon, and the stars all rise from the east and set in the west.

“Behold ye the earth, and give heed to the things which take place upon it from first to last, how steadfast they are, how none of the things upon earth change, but all the works of God appear to you. Behold the summer and the winter, how the whole earth is filled with water, and clouds and dew and rain lie upon it.”

As Father told Noah when he came out of the ark, as long as the earth endures, sea time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. And these things were set as part of Father’s order from the very beginning, and He set them for us as a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reminder of His Word. Isaiah tells us, “For as the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return there, but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes out from My mouth. It shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

The seasons and the weather, all of this is a sign to us that what Father says and what He has said through His prophets for thousands of years is going to come to pass.

“Observe and see how in the winter all the trees seem as though they had withered and shed all their leaves, except fourteen trees, which do not lose their foliage but retain the old foliage from two to three years till the new comes.”

The trees and everything that Father created to live on this earth, it follows the order that He set and part of the reason as I said before is because these things were set and established to be a sign to us.

“And again, observe ye the days of summer how the sun is above the earth over against it. And you seek shade and shelter by reason of the heat of the sun, and the earth also burns with growing heat, and so you cannot tread on the earth, or on a rock by reason of its heat.”

“Observe ye how the trees cover themselves with green leaves and bear fruit: wherefore give ye heed and know with regard to all His works, and recognize how He that liveth forever hath made them so.”

“And all His works go on thus from year to year for ever, and all the tasks which they accomplish for Him, and their tasks change not, but according as God hath ordained so is it done.”

“And behold how the sea and the rivers in like manner accomplish and change not their tasks from His commandments.”

And here is where we get to the people of God. “But ye–ye have not been steadfast, nor done the commandments of THE LORD, But ye have turned away and spoken proud and hard words with your impure mouths against His greatness. Oh, ye hard-hearted, ye shall find no peace.”

Now remember here that in Enoch chapter 1, he told us that everything that he was shown and everything that he was taught and what he wrote down in his book was not for his generation, but for a remote generation that was to come. The generation that Enoch is speaking about is the generation that was born in the days of Yeshua and that continues through this day.

If you believe in Yeshua and you follow Yeshua, you are considered born again as a son or as a daughter of God, our Father. And Father sees things in black and white in a lot of respects, and either He is your Father or your father is the devil, and you are part of the wicked generation that Yeshua spoke about. So, when Enoch is speaking here to this remote generation, sometimes he has bad news because he is specifically addressing the wicked generation, whose father is not our God and he is sometimes addressing the righteous, which is those who follow after Yeshua. To the wicked, he says, “Therefore shall ye execrate your days.” The word execrate means curse. “Therefore shall you curse your days, and the years of your life shall perish, and the years of your destruction shall be multiplied in eternal execration, in eternal cursing, and you shall find no mercy.”

We’ve studied the Hebrew word for bless in the past and to bless in Hebrew is literally a picture of Father putting something into your hands. He gives you stuff. To curse in Hebrew is “arar” and cursing is a picture of our Father, God our Father, setting His face against you. So, for His children, He blesses us. But for those who have departed from the way and who, as Enoch says, speak proud and hard words against Him, He turns his face against them. He curses them and when God curses you, you will curse your days.

Verse 6, “In those days ye shall make your names an eternal execration,” an eternal curse, “unto all the righteous, and by you shall all who curse, curse. And all the sinners and godless shall imprecate by you.”

Imprecate is another word that means curse and it also means to swear against and to call down evil upon. Now these are some very harsh words that the prophet Enoch is saying. But if you look at a lot of the Old Testament, the prophets are just as harsh, especially when it comes to the people who Father calls His own. And father warned the 12 tribes of Israel back in the days of Moses, that if they didn’t listen to His commands, they would become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all the nations when He drove them out of His land. When Israel was cast out of Father’s land back in the day, the whole world had to hear about it. It is the overarching theme of the entire Bible.

So, anyone who has read the Bible, which is much of the world, or who knows about the Bible knows about how Israel was given commands by our Father and they didn’t listen and so he drove them out of His land.

Enoch says that all the sinners and godless shall imprecate by you. So, he’s not including this group that he’s talking about as part of the sinners or the godless. This is a separate group. It’s a group of people who had been given the commandments of the Lord. And he says that the sinners and the godless would imprecate by them. So, they shall curse by you, which is exactly what was prophesied by Isaiah as well.

Now, as we go through these things, it’s not to pick on any particular group. If you’ve watched our channel before, you know that we are from the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali. And we believe that our Father is speaking to a lot of people out there, maybe some of you who are listening, and letting them know who they are and that they are actually lost tribes. Scattered all throughout the earth, you have the descendants of Jacob. And in the last days, Father’s work that He’s going to do is going to be to fulfill His promises to His people and through His prophets, and He is going to regather all of Israel and as part of that regathering, He’s going to purge Israel. And that’s what Ezekiel tells us.

That purging and that regathering is a great topic for another day. For right now, we are going to read from Isaiah 65. And so, I wanted to say that we’re not trying to pick on anybody here, but if you don’t understand who Father is angry at, then you’re going to have a little trouble understanding end times because end times has everything to do with the 12 tribes of Israel, as you will see throughout the study. So, Isaiah 65 says, “I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek Me.” This is Father talking.

“I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ to a nation that was not called by My name. I spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; a people who provoke Me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens and making offerings on bricks; who sit in tombs, and spend the night in secret places; who eat pig’s flesh, and broth of tainted meat is in their vessels.” He’s speaking of Israel who He gave commands to that they didn’t listen to.

“Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am too holy for you.’ These are a smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all the day. Behold, it is written before me: ‘I will not keep silent, but I will repay; I will indeed repay into their lap both your iniquities and your fathers’ iniquities together,’ says The Lord.”

You can see by that last verse that He is also in this portion of Isaiah – He’s talking to the end time generation because they have their own iniquities and He speaks of their fathers’ iniquities. The fathers are the ones who Father cast out of the land. And that happened to the northern tribes of Israel in the 8th century BC and later on to Judah.

“Because they made offerings on the mountains and insulted me on the hills, I will measure into their lap payment for their former deeds.” Thus says the Lord, “As the new wine is found in the cluster and they say do not destroy it for there is a blessing in it, so I will do for My servant’s sake and not destroy them all.” Here you are about to see our Father’s mercy on His people, Israel.

When we started off the Enoch Bible study, we talked about the elect and the righteous, and the elect is the chosen people, Israel. But being chosen doesn’t make you righteous. What Father is going to show you here is that there is going to be at the end times – the days that started from the days of Yeshua and that will continue all the way through His return – there’s going to be a part of the chosen people who are righteous, who He is going to take care of exceedingly.

“I will bring forth offspring from Jacob and from Judah, possessors of my mountains. My chosen shall possess it and My servants shall dwell there. Sharon shall become a pasture for flocks, and the Valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down, for My people who have sought me. But you who forsake the Lord, who forget My holy mountain, who set a table for fortune and fill cups of mixed wine for destiny, I will destine you to the sword, and all of you shall bow down to the slaughter, because when I called, you did not answer. when I spoke, you did not listen, but you did what was evil in My eyes and chose what I did not delight in. Therefore, thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry. Behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty. Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be put to shame. Behold, My servants shall sing for gladness of heart but you shall cry out for pain of heart and shall wail for breaking of sprit. You shall leave your name to My chosen for a curse.’” Exactly what Enoch says.

So, you can see from that chapter in Isaiah that Father is angry, but He is also merciful. If you are His servant, His child, you are considered righteous in His eyes. For anyone else will be a curse. But for you, His servants, His children, will be a blessing. You will receive food when others are hungry. You will have drink when others are thirsty. Remember this when people tell you about the mark of the beast and how you’re going to starve to death if you don’t take the mark. It’s not true. You will not starve. They can say what they want. Your Father will take care of you.

Continuing with Enoch chapter 5 verse 7, we read, “And for you, the godless, there shall be a curse.” So, Enoch just finished talking about the group who was given Father’s commands who didn’t listen to Him and how they will be under Father’s curse, and also here he’s telling us the godless of the nations will be under His curse. The reason I say the godless of the nations is because it wasn’t to the nations that Father said, “You will be My people and I will be your God.”

So, I do believe in this verse here, “godless” is referring to unbelievers of the nations. “And all the elect shall rejoice, and there shall be forgiveness of sins, and every mercy and peace and forbearance. There shall be salvation unto them, a goodly light.”

So here we’re starting to get into the good news that Enoch wrote down. “And for all of you sinners, there shall be no salvation, but on you shall abide a curse.” Later on, in the Book of Enoch, he defines the sinners as those who deny the name of the Lord of Spirits. And the name of the Lord of Spirits in the book of Enoch is Mashiach. Yeshua is the name of the Lord of Spirits. So here he’s saying that for all of you sinners, that is for all of you who deny Yeshua, there shall be no salvation. In Hebrew, the word for salvation is “Yeshua”. So, it makes perfect sense for all of you who deny Yeshua there shall be no Yeshua.

But for the elect, there shall be light and joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. Yeshua said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” The word for meek in Hebrew is the same as the word for humble. That word is “anah”. When Yeshua said that the meek will inherit the earth, He was quoting Psalm 37, and Psalm 37 was very probably quoting Enoch. Psalm 37 says the evildoers will be cut off. But those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. It also says the meek will inherit the land and delight in abundant prosperity. And also, the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.

That is all very good news that we get to inherit the land at a time when Yeshua is going to be here as king of kings. It’s all good to have property and real estate and land right now on this earth, but you are subject to unrighteousness because the rulers throughout many of our lands are not righteous. The earth and the land that we are going to inherit as sons and daughters of God our Father is going to be blessed because the King will be here. So that’s good news. And there is even better news, I think, coming up in the next couple verses.

Verse 8. “And then there shall be bestowed upon the elect wisdom, and they shall all live and never again sin, either through ungodliness or through pride. But they who are wise shall be humble.”

“And they shall not again transgress, nor shall they sin all the days of their life, nor shall they die of the divine anger or wrath, but they shall complete the number of the days of their life.”

So, Enoch is saying that for us who make it into millennium, we’re not going to sin anymore. And I don’t know about you, but this is something that I was worried about at one point in time before I read these words and saw them also in the Old Testament, which is we have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling and every day that we are on this earth, we need to choose righteousness. We need to choose Yeshua and we need to choose to follow The Way, His way. And it’s difficult and that’s okay and it’s something that we love doing but it is difficult. But this life is the testing ground. Once He returns, we would have lived our full life on earth prior to millennium. And in millennium, we don’t have to worry about that anymore because Father is going to make it so that we don’t mess it up. We are actually going to be able to enjoy 1,000 years of Yeshua on the throne, righteousness in the land, a beautiful inheritance, a beautiful earth, which is going to be very blessed because the curse from the ground is going to be removed.

We’re going to actually be able to enjoy it because we don’t have to worry about sinning and about transgressing. Now I do think it’s obvious from the scriptures that some of the people who are in millennium do sin and do transgress, and it’s especially obvious from the very last battle at the end of the thousand years when Satan is released and he goes out to the four corners of the earth and people join Satan and they try to make battle with Father’s children. But I think that those people, that sin in millennium, are the ones who are born in millennium because what it appears to me from these verses in Enoch and also in something else that I’ll share with you from Isaiah is that Father is going to make it so that we don’t sin anymore.

You have lived your life on this earth, you have passed your test, and He is going to be with you so strongly. His spirit will be with you so much that “you will hear a word behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it” when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.” So, His guidance is going to be a thousand times stronger than it is even now.

If you live your life not wanting to sin and not wanting to transgress, in those days He will make it so that you don’t. Praise God.

“And their lives shall be increased in peace, and the years of their joy shall be multiplied, In eternal gladness and peace, all the days of their life.”

So, to recap just a little bit, we saw in these last few chapters that Father is angry and He’s going to be judging those who he gave his commandments to, who left His way and also those who are godless among the nations and also the sinners, those who deny Yeshua. And His judgment will be against those groups and He will protect the righteous and give them an inheritance and make sure that they are at peace and make it so that we would never again sin and transgress in those days.

Next time around, we’re going to see that there is another group that our Father is angry with and that is the angels and He is mad at them because of what they did here on earth before the Flood. We’ll talk about that next time.
