If you’ve seen our video on the ancient calendar of Israel, you know that we believe Father’s calendar has 364 days in each year, and that we do not add any extra days, weeks, or months to try to stay in sync with the seasons.
I’m going to share with you one of the reasons that we look at the calendar this way and it has to do with the Hebrew word “chodesh”.
[Music]
Enoch wrote that there are 364 days each year forever until the new creation. He doesn’t say to add any extra time to Father’s calendar and neither does the Bible. So, for us that’s enough of a reason not to add extra days, weeks, or months. But there is another reason for you to consider.
In Colossians we read, “For by him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.” The prophet Elijah was able to see the invisible powers of the army of the Lord here on earth.
There’s a story in Second Kings that talks about how Elijah and his servant were surrounded by the Syrian army. Elijah’s servant was worried, so Elijah prayed, “Lord, open his eyes so he can see that they who are with us are more than they who are with our enemy.”
And Father heard his prayer. He opened the servant’s eyes and that servant got to see the hosts of the Lord of hosts, an army with chariots of fire and horses standing there on guard and ready to do battle.
In the same way that Elijah and his servant got to see the invisible powers on earth, Enoch was able to see the invisible powers in the heavens. Enoch was shown the heavenly army of YHVH and how that army is divided into divisions. He saw that there were 12 division leaders who divide the months, and 360 heads of thousands who divide the days. He saw four leaders who are called the sun and four leaders who divide the year. This is the host of the Lord of Hosts and the army of the Lord of Armies.
He has established these invisible powers as part of His calendar system. Whether we see it or not, it’s not just a matter of sunrise, sunset, moon comes out, moon goes down, but there are invisible powers that are involved in Father’s calendar. And even if we wanted to, neither you nor I are able to add or to subtract from the number of His army. To add a month to Father’s calendar is to assume that we have the ability to add a whole division of angels into Father’s heavenly army.
To add a day to Father’s calendar is to think that somehow, we can insert an angel who’s called a “head of thousands” into the ranks of His army. There’s no way that we can add a single angel to Father’s ranks, much less a whole division of angels. So, for that reason, we do not add days, weeks, or months to His calendar.
There’s evidence of the military divisions that Father ordained for his calendar in the Hebrew word “chodesh,” which is translated into English as “month”. Chodesh is spelled chet, dalet, shin. Chet in the original Hebrew script was a picture of a wall. And as a wall divides between what is inside and what is outside, the letter chet is used in Hebrew words to mean division.
The letter dalet is picture of a door and as a door moves back and forth and is used for people to move through, the letter dalet is used in Hebrew words to mean movement.
The letter shin is a picture of the front teeth and all throughout the Bible, teeth are used to represent power. When Father breaks the teeth of His enemies, He’s taking away their power and showing them to be powerless. So, the letter shin is used in Hebrew words to mean power. Chet dalet shin, chodesh. Chet is divisions and divisions is a military term for group. Dalet is movements and movement is a military term for the advance of a military unit.
Father is using military terminology here because he made this word “chodesh” to tell us something about His army in the heavens. Shin is powers and powers is a title that He gives His angels. Enoch and Yeshua call them the powers of heaven. So, putting it all together, this word chodesh, month, means the divisions of the movements of the heavenly powers. When it’s the first day of the first chodesh, that is the first month, it means that Father’s first division of heavenly powers is making their advance through the heavens. When it’s a new chodesh, a new month, it’s a changing of the guard, from one division to another.
King David understood these things, which is why when he set up his army, he put them into 12 divisions, one for each month. He modeled his army after our Father’s army, which is also in 12 divisions. Unfortunately, many of our Bibles often translate the word “chodesh” as New Moon, which can cause confusion if you’re trying to study Father’s Calendar. But as you can see, the word chodesh is not about the phases of the moon. It’s about Father’s hosts. Those who follow a lunar calendar very often add a 13th chodesh, which is something you can do on paper, but in reality, as I said before, you cannot add a division, a chodesh, to Father’s Army.
Now the reason that people add months and days and weeks to the calendar is because they want to try and stay in sync with the seasons. But for us, staying in sync with the seasons is not what’s important. We try to stick to the order that Father set in the way that he had Enoch describe it for us. And as Enoch put it, there are 12 months and 364 days each year. And this is the year that is to be used for feasts until the time that Father creates the new heavens and new earth.
